Don't blame Avram, he's been on fire in pre-season.

I don't think he would come on TV and look a prat later if they were going to sell. They must have some new way of paying off their debts. The other players we a associated with from West Ham are crap, hope we don't bale them out by buying that rubbish.

Better and more creative than anything we've currently got in the middle. Saying that I'd have Kevin-Prince over Noble all day.

Couldn't hold down a place in a nearly relegated side, He did look promising a couple of seasons ago but has gone backwards rapidly.

One of my mates a big hammers fan and he rates Noble highly - I keep winding him up sayin we're gonna swoop in on a double deal for Cole and Noble, he says you can take Cole but as for Noble you can fuck off!

I just hope there actually are some other targets!

Frustrating to hear tbh.I think he would have done a good job for us.Having said that would he ever have wanted to come to us? Now the Kenwyne Jones speculation will gain momentum.

given Gold & Sullivan are his employers & also that Mrs Peschisolido is at WHU I think you will find Grant has next to no say whatsoever in deciding wether to accept a bid for one of their players or not.
As such expect Grant to be no longer at the Boleyn in 12 months time
Factor in every club denys they are selling their players - until they are sold (inc Stoke re Ryan) - & you can ignore the statement entirely.
if WHU have rejected a bid for Cole from Stoke as reported (& at this time of year you have to treat these stories with some suspicion) then that can mean all sorts of things.
1.they think Stoke will offer more (they may be right of course) or offer more upfront.
2.they think making this as public as possible will drum up other, bigger, bids. This is very much the Gold & Sullivan way of operating (& very much NOT how PC & TP operate).
3.they want to buy a replacement 1st

Buy K P Boateng and Cruz instead for that money.
The most needed players.

Santa Cruz will be on huge wages as he only signed for Citeh 12 months ago
Stoke wont - & imho 100% correctly - pay huge wages
maybe we can squeeze some money(i.e split the wages as wid with Dibbs when we got him from Leeds) out of Citeh for any of their players who might come to Stoke however those sort of deals are always going to be done right at the very end of the window when Citeh need to move players on.
KPBoateng is far more realistic but is only me who thinks that he's done not very much in the prem?

Slightly confused by this as i didn't see it, but SkySports website and Football365 both have him down as saying Parker won't be sold, no mention whatsoever of Cole...hmmmmm www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11685_6288530,00.html www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6288577,00.html West Ham boss Avram Grant is adamant captain Scott Parker will be staying at Upton Park. Parker has been the subject of a failed bid from Tottenham, while Liverpool and Aston Villa are thought to be monitoring the midfielder's situation. Grant is determined to keep hold of Parker and insists the former Chelsea and Charlton star is key to West Ham's long-term plans. "Yes, he is staying at the club," Grant told Sky Sports News. "He is a good player and it doesn't surprise me that many good teams would want him as he could play for any team in the Premier League. "But we have plans for next season, not for one season for all the team. We have a vision about the club to have West Ham in a good place and good football and he is a big important part for this project." Asked if he feared Spurs might make a new bid for Parker, Grant said: "I think they don't have to make a bid because we make it very, very clear that Scott Parker will stay with us."

I would just like to apologise to pottersrule if he felt offended by my reply. Made up bollox was due to reading oatcake for about an hour and people just talking shit basically,ie i like this guy think we should go for him or we are interested about him and this guy wants to leave we should go for him and in general all pretty much ridiculous comments about players that would not come here ( Ireland,Parker etc...) Your thread got my overall reply...sorry and i had recently read this article basically saying West Ham are willing to sell Cole : www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23860737-west-ham-reject-spurs-offer-for-scott-parker.doNo offence meant personally fellow potter Ps I will be fookin glad when this transfer window is over...again ;D

Do we want Santa Cruz? Did well at Blackburn but for me, he is slow, injury-prone and on massive wages. Plus he's 29 and I think we could get better!!

This thread just shows how the media twist everything that's said and sensationalise it, so much so that everybody believes it to be true.
All the reports following the SSN 'Breaking News' (which read 'Avram Grant has confirmed Carlton Cole will not be sold' if I remember rightly) have been 'Cole not for sale', 'Cole staying at West Ham', 'Avram will not sell Cole'.
All of those reports are based on one sentence which was - "I don't want to sell Carlton," said Grant, who is also determined to keep Scott Parker at the club.
Now I'm not saying they will sell but what Grant said means absolutely fuck all and doesn't change anything.
All of the press reports have been complete bollocks but it appears that many people read the headline and accept that it is true without fully reading the bullshit below it.
This has been going on all summer and has alot to do with the frustration of many fans on here.
I hate the media!!

That means absolutely nothing. Regardless of what is said all players are for sale at the right price and if we match the price he will be sold, simple as that.
