Grandadstokey's post on the Vale thread just caught my eye, saying that his older brother was a Vale fan. Got me thinking about it - it's easy to understand parents or other relatives being fans of different clubs, but I reckon the stories behind having a brother/sister who supports someone else might be more intriguing... Over to you.

I don't have siblings but my Dad, who grew up in Warrington, had two brothers. My Dad supported Liverpool but his two brothers supported Man City and Man United! Fortunately this was before WWII and things were not as tribal in those days as they are now.

My brother, brother in law, and nieces are wolves ST holders, so everyone is looking forward to the first game...
although at present i am not confident of us getting a positive result.

my sister couldn't give two fucks about football, although she could maybe have a guess at the Prem champions - Liverpool? ;D
what it must be like to live a life without any knowledge of the beautiful game is very hard to imagine!

My brother doesn't support anyone in real terms, but if asked he will say Liverpool, but to be honest I've seen them play more times than he has. That said he didn't get a moody on when I bought both my Niece and Nephew Stoke strips.

Two brothers. Both ST holders. One at Stoke the other down the Vale. Can't argue with either of them as they both support their team. The Vale fan has been taking his son since the age of four (he's seven now I think). Only one traumatic moment a couple of years back when his son (no doubt on a sugar-induced high as my brother bribes him with sweets) asked if they could go and watch a team that wins..cus Vale are shit (or words to that effect).

My 5 year old supports Chelsea.. his CFC strip is never off his back, he sleeps in a CFC duvet set, drinks out of a CFC cup and eats his packup out of a fucking CFC lunchbox..
He got 3 HCAFC strips, last years home and away and the year before's home shirt the little cunt only wears them in an emergency..
Its his age..
He'll soon grow out of it and be converted into a Tigger..but it kinda tells you all you need to know about fans of the so-called top four..

My 5 year old lad had his first ever picture taken in a Stoke baby grow! He went his first game aged 11 weeks (albeit it was a pre season friendly at a non league ground.) As far as he is concerned football IS Stoke City, although he does know that we don't like Man Utd (as he proclaimed without prompting when they were once mentioned on the radio!) I say threaten him with rugby league mate, that should sort him out and make him follow the Tigers!

My old man and then me have always been stoke, one of my brothers who is 5 years younger grew up supporting man utd. That is untill he was about 11 when i finally snapped when coming home from a home defeat i looked up into our shared bedroom window to see utd pictures and scarf.I went mad ripped them all down and put them in the bin and called him a traitor,it must have struck a cord because from then on he was 100% stoke and like me is still a season ticket holder he is now 46 and we laugh about it.But it is hard for me to explain but stoke city as always been more than football to me and when i called him a traitor at that point in time i meant it.My youngest brother although does not go always looks out for our results and wants us to do well.

My Dad supports Man Utd and watched them for nearly all the games from the late 60's to the late 70's before me eldest brother was born so aint a glory hunter like they are these days. Both me brothers support Liverpool which me Dad does not understand as they where both United fans when they where kids as was i until i saw sense in 1993 and became a Stokie. Me Dad did'nt mind as hes always liked Stoke. Me Mum is a Stokie also & i converted my Step-Dad who didnt like football before i met him into a Potter too. The rest of my family either support Utd, Citeh or Liverpool!!

Apart from my brother being a Vale fan , my user name was actually down to my oldest Grandson ,who called me Grandad Stokey to differentiate me from his other Grandad who is a Vale fan. Thankfully he has inherited the intelligent genes in the family and is now a Stoke season ticket holder.

My Grandad supported both Stoke and Vale but he didn't go to watch either as he had better things to do. But he always followed both teams. I asked him when the last time he went Stoke was and his answer was something like "1933" ;D My Dad is the same, he loves football but he doesn't support anyone. He loves tippy tappy football though. If pushed I think he'd plump for Chelsea though, he started liking them after we beat 'em in the League Cup. My Brother supported anyone from 'Castle to Liverpool when he was younger. But I converted him about 10 years ago. My Mum has always been a Stoke fan, as have I.

My granddad is from Sao Paulo in Brazil and is a huge Santos fan, my dad was born in Jamaica but spent time growing up in Sao Paulo so he is also a big Santos fan, but my older brother, simply wanting to be confrontational decided he was supporting Sao Paulo instead of Santos just because everyone else in the family was Santos. My dad wasn't pleased, but i also didn't think he cared about the bugger that much anyway . I was born in Jamaica and although it is a shit league, I still watch and support Tivoli Gardens, Ric's first semi pro club and the reason I am now on this message board.

I done the photos of him in a baby tigers kit/baby grow.. and his name has been on the waiting list to be a mascot for past 3 years etc..
A year ago he didn't like football.. Suppose the Chelsea thing is better than nowt at this stage.. he chortles at me for supporting Hull City, and seemed genuinely gutted when CFC could only muster a scrappy 1-1 at the KC ..
It'll all change once he starts coming to games, I aint in a rush.. couldn't bear sitting in the family seats, like to be in amoungst the noise and he's still a bit young to be exposed to the east stand..

Fair play mate, he'll come round. (Although I think you're way too soft letting him have the Chelsea stuff! ) Jamo jnr was a mascot for a pre season game last year, he loved it but I was a bit disappointed because there's so bloody many mascots now we're Premier League.

My thick brother is a dingle bastard. I hate him as much as them. Tosser.
My step-son asked if he could have a dingle shirt as his dad is a dirty yellow twat. I said "of course you can. When your 16 and walking out that door." He has never asked since. ;D
