If you were a player with bucket loads of potential, would you be content to sit on your arse and waste your career for the pay cheque?
The Bentley thread made me think of this, but how many other great players are getting splinters an not fulfilling their potential?

Owen did it brilliantly at the Toon lol, other players that spring to mind are Woodgate, Jenas, Dyer to name a few...
