I'm sure Rodney will end up playing at a very decent level. In my opinion he was the best of all the boys released last year. Infact he is probably one of the most talented released players I have seen from our Academy.
Before our rise to the Premier League I have no doubt he would have been nailed on as getting a pro-deal. He is a perfect example of how difficult it is to to bring through lads that can earn a professional deal at Premier League level.
Thye current crop of youth team squad flew out to Valencia today by the way. They mirror the pro squad by being away for a week in which they train and have two games including one against Valencia's youth team.

I was surprised we let Mcdonald go especially with this squad rule coming into place, I think he would have been worth a few years just to see how he progressed.
When are the games Mark?

went the same school as rodney, a couple of years older though, remember we played a training match against him and he just took us to pieces, even from defence. hope he does well.

Good news Mark.
By the way, Rodney McDonald gave away a penalty against Burnley last night (which was missed by Chris Iwelumo). Leon Cort scored a late winner (2-1 the final score).

Have You seen the peno he gave away James? I saw it on SSN and it was one of the softest I've ever seen. He got very unlucky with it.

I missed the penalty award- I saw Big Chris miss it though Hopefully it won't affect his opportunity of a contract then.

It was 2 men brushing shoulders inside the penalty area and McDonald was the stronger player. Eckers went down penalty awarded.
