I must confess the last words of this made me smile: '... while Jon Parkin adds his weight to City's attack.' He certainly does Deliberate irony or accident, I wonder? Cheers, Steve.

4PM UPDATE: NO PLACE FOR KEEPER SIMONSEN Be the first reader to comment on this story
STEVE Simonsen will be spared the indignity of being asked to appear for Stoke Reserves tomorrow.
Simonsen has been out of action for more than a fortnight after being replaced by on-loan Carlo Nash as City?s number one.
But manager Tony Pulis has decided against giving him a run-out in tomorrow afternoon?s reserve league outing against Shrewsbury at Newcastle Town (2pm).
?Simmo has played plenty of games this season and doesn?t really need another one at this stage,? Pulis reasoned.
?After all, I took him out of the team because I felt he needed a rest. He?s training as usual, of course, and for the moment that?s sufficient.?
A late decision will be made on whether Gabriel Zakuani is fit to return to action tomorrow following his recovery from a broken toe.
Club skipper Dominic Matteo is pencilled in for an hour against Shrewsbury after returning to training this week.
Matteo, who underwent a foot operation in November, suffered a minor relapse after recently returning to action with a full 90 minutes for the reserves.
Stoke?s line-up tomorrow also includes the likes of Marlon Broomes, Andy Wilkinson and Lewis Buxton at the back, while Jon Parkin adds his weight to City?s attack

Why don't they play Diao in the reserves? Surely more games is what he needs

He has been playing in the reserves since he came back. He wont get match fit to the level needed playing in the reseves.

Marlon effin Broomes, hopefully we are getting him fit to get rid of.
I thought when we swapped him for lewis Neal that we could not have got a worse player in return, how wrong could i be.
