I know there are some very knowledgable people on here.
My PC has recently started shutting down after only being on for a short time and will only stay on for around 30 seconds or so.
Its one me and a mate built around 3 years ago, decent spec (well was back then)
Intel Dual Core 1 gig DDR2 Ram Decent board and Graphics card although cant think of brands
anyway a few months ago the PSU burnt out, this was a 550w because i didnt have much cash spare at the time i replaced with a 350w (not sure if this may have something to do with it now)
anyway for a few months all has been well it shut down occasionally but usually after at least a few hours, now though from the other day was only staying on for around 5mins and now from this morning barely 30 seconds.
oh and when it was working fine few months ago it would power down straight away if i tried watching videos, google earth, burning cds etc
what I am after, is there anyone that could kindly take a look to try and find out the problem or if not could someone reccomend me a good repair shop where i wont get ripped off
I managed to get into BIOS this morning and the CPU temp was around 67c
many thanks

Take the lid off and make sure the processor fan is spinning, if it isn't blow all the dust off it and manually turn it, power it on and see if it spins.
If it is the fan, go get a new one before you blow your processor up.

Thanks for the reply mate, it was spinning but i actually took it off the board this morning to clean it properly as it was quite badly clogged up with crap, thing is now i got rid of it all and i cant get it to go back onto the board properly, it is at the moment sort of sitting in place, but i cant get the 4 plastic rods to go through the holes.
I wasnt sure whether to try booting it up or not like this but did and like i say doesnt stay on for long at all, really frustrating, just hoping it will be something simple.
not sure if this is worth mentioning but something quite bizare before when it would stay on for quite a while it was when it was on its side but for some strange reason when i tried it stood up wouldnt even boot up fully.

67c whilst hot, isn't bad. Most processors don't have problems until 80/90 over a prolonged period. You've reduced the wattage of your PSU by 200, which is a fair substantial amount. Providing you have an oboard gfx card, it may be best to remove that for now. There is a bit of a trick going around at the moment with power supplies from retailers. Specifying a PSU can get 'upto' XXXw but rarely operates at that level.
Without the heatsink properly attached, the processor will heat up massively, so you need to get that reattached ASAP. If you really want someone to take a look at it, PM me and I'll take a look for nowt, I have built a fair few PC's including the most recent here next to me, and I also have one or two spare components laying about I can try testing it with.
Some GFX cards/GPU's are extremely power hungry though, so I think it could be problem solved if you remove it. If not then it could be down to a wiring issue (depending upon whether your PSU is modular or not) and the consistent voltage of it.

There is a option in your BIOS which shuts down your computer if it gets to hot, My dad had his computer about 3 years ago and his started doing it recently, so I just disabled this and it was fine after

My laptop feels like it's melting at the minute. I'd best get on it.

How do you get at the fan on an Acer Aspire 7535? I've had a browse on the net and can't spot anything. In my defence, i am an idiot.
