Its not a foregone conclusion that we'll go straight back down. Sunderland & Brum went up last time and each have a good chance of survival. Look at Reading last year. They coped admirable. Also last year Sheff Utd were about eight points clear atr one stage after Christmas.
Of course it'd be a long hard trudge BUT the idea that relegation would be a foregone conclusion is bollox.

I think we'd stick it.
Pulis is a defence minded manager, and I'm sure he'd bring enough quality in at Premiership level to do the job.
My main concern is his love of Mama. Surley he will let him go in the Summer if we go up?

I fear that with the present incumbent we'll make Derby’s season look a success. Even if I was to be proved right (and I'll hope and prey that I'm not) I'd still take it and enjoy the trip.

Thing is though Derby have been a complete disjointed shambles. Pulis main thing this season IMHO is that we have had a united dressing room. That spirit and organisation could be worth a few points if we make it up.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us stay up. If there's one thing we know Pulis can do, it is steady a ship.
A couple of shrewd buys in the defence & midfield and 1 or 2 Premiership class strikers and we would be as good as the Fulhams, Wigans, Brums of the Premier League. After a season of surviving, you just keep trying to build and build.
With a little bit of luck we could become a mid-table Premiership team within 3 years of going up, which is something I wouldn't mind seeing for the next decade to be honest.
We have to get there first though.

in my opinion with the finances awarded for promotion i think if you can get the right players in pre-season ( something which derby failed too do ) then we can stay up.
I think even in the premiership i think a fair few sides will struggle to cope with our set-pieces, and arial abilities......
If we are to survive the drop they need to adopt two styles of play, something which we have this season.
The one-dimensional long ball to target man mama approach, which granted can be ugly but has got us results in the past, and points gain promotion not value of entertainment.
And the flowing carpet football which we have seen glimpses of this season, having glenn whelan now in the side means we have creative quality which we lacked early in the season, to add to our approach, which can only be a good thing.
In my opinion 6 or 7 of our current squad are good enough for the premiership step-up but no doubt new faces MUST be added and i'm sure they will be if we go up.
I mean look at the success achieved by Sam Allardyce at Bolton, he took them up and made them a stable premiership outfit ( granted they aren't now ) and his style of play is one-dimensional, it's ugly and the media and everyone else love to jump on our backs whenever we score a goal which consists of the long-ball, but i really couldn't care what the media and fat bastard merson thinks.
There philosophy is that to have the right to go up you MUST play west brazil albion style football, which judging off the leicester city embarassment on saturday, shows quite clearly it isn't a for gone conclusion to success.
It's really just a case of holding our nerve now, it's in our own hands, our remaining fixtures in my opinion are amongst the easiest out of the promotion chasers, so it's there for the taking.

I couldn't disagree more with that comment. In my opinion, once we're in the Premier League, I think we have one of the best managers we could possibly have to keep us there.
