all season TP has been moaning about the fixtures & he was @ it again when he complained about having to travel to Norwich & Watford in the space of a few days.
well you know what Stoke,as TP says in todays Sentinel,"looked tired & on edge" last Saturday.
maybe there is some self fullfilling prophecy going on but it seems TP is right.
hopefully with there being no more than one game a week till seasons end we can be fresh for each game.

But that's football-that's why You have a squad and that's what they are paid to do. Just get on with and stop whining about the bloody fixture list.

Those remarks are not to be taken too seriously. Whatever way you look at all the fixtures have to be completed within the given time-frame, so obviously sometimes you'll be better off than others. I travel 10,000's of miles a year with my job and I'm not 'jaded'! Oh, hang on ......!

Very true. At least Carlisle arent in the Championship. Could you imagine playing them away on the Saturday and Plymouth on the Tuesday? ouch. Not that we will of course, Our fixture list will prob be Newcastle away on Boxing Day followed by a trip to Portsmouth on the Saturday when we are fighting in the Prem next season GOARRNNNN STOKE!

I think he was spot on about the Christmas fixtures to be honest. Only the dickheads who populate the offices of the football league would show such disregard for fans and players and give us away trips to Barnsley and Plymouth in the space of a couple of days over a holiday period. It's not as though it has to be like that.
Last week however was just the sort of tricky week that every club encounters now and again.

We must be one of the luckiest tclubs in the game, being conveniently situated in the middle of the country. Enough said.

Some people make carlisle the other end of the world, it's 2 1/2 hours away tops, 2 on good run, what with an overnight stay in a decent hotel, molly cuddled my arse. next week i have to go to Stevenage (somebody has to) I'll be on the road at 5.00, then back in the evening as I have to take my lad to school at 4.30 am, they are off on a school trip, pampered arisholes. rant over

In fairness the fixture list hasn't been kind to us this season, Palace, Charlton, Norwich and Scunthorpe all away midweek, Plymouth a couple of days after xmas. It does take it's toll on the old holidays at work.
A bit more thought for the average fan should go into next year fixture list but I somehow doubt it will.
From a players perspective, it may have a slight adverse effect with the extra travelling but to be honest they're that pampered in this day and age, 5* hotels, flights to away games, I have very little sympathy......

I have little sympathy too. A girl I know is engaged to a Championship footballer and she was moaning about how he has to train on Christmas Day. My response: "Yeah, that must be terrible when you're 23 years old and getting paid £10k per week. The poor guy"
Some people have no idea

Personally, I find this constant whinhing about away trips embarassing. If we ever get into Europe and are drawn against a Russian side will we say we prefer not to go because it is too far. Ludicrous.

The point with Christmas fixture is they avoid local derby matches because the police are short staffed and Xmas games get a good crowd regardless so derby game are played at other times resulting in two big crowds rather than one big and one small but triffic tone will always get his excuses in first even when they are not needed!

I remember an interview on the stoke site a few weeks back, with griff saying the games are nothing to mona about considerin how pampered they were and how great the life of a footballer was.
than again, think he was referring mainly to the 3 games in six days against Cardiff, southampton and scunny, all at home
