one thing ive noticed about Stoke over the last 2-3 seasons is streaks. thsi season is no exception, we go 7-8 games scoring 3- 4 goals a game, now have only scored 3 goals in the last 6 games ?? why ?? who knows ?? the strangest thing about this bad streak we are on is we are in 1st place. How does that happen when you only score 3 goals in 6 games ? after the worst display of the season against Watford using the strange 5-3-2 or 4-5 -1 or 3 -6 -1 or whatever the hell the lineup was . Mr Pulis needs to take a deep breath and watch whats hes seinding out there. I for one, as a Sidibe detractor, has finally come to the realization of the value of his services. While i think hed be a great holding midfielder, the team is better with him in it than out of it. ok im rambling now as i could talk all day about this most unsual of Stoke teams.................. sitting in 1st place

Let's all hope we start a streak of 4-0 victories, starting on Saturday!

I think pulis thought he would 'go for it' for most part of the season. When we started losing and letting in goals he has reverted to type to maybe get us over the finish line.

I hate to use the phrase, fromafar, but I'll use it anyway. It isn't rocket science........... ;D Our (comparative) goal drought occurred when TP finally decided he had to do something about our defence which was leaking like a seive until 3 games ago. The reason we are still top is that our dodgy streak has coincided with even more dodgy streaks for our rivals - for which I am very thankful.

No offence mate but you seem to be making alot of negative posts about the preformance in matches of players etc. Yet with the fact you never see these games unless they are on Sky you can't really make the inferences you are coming up with.
I am not saying you are any less of a fan, all i am saying is some of the things are just plain wrong due to you not seeing the full story.
The reason we HAD to keep scoring 3 or 4 was not because it was the way we went out to demolish every team but the fact that our defence could not keep a clean sheet. It is humanly imposssible to score 3 and 4 eveyr match to win. Therefor pulis had to change the defence and did. This means the goals have dried up a bit due to us concentrating on keeping the goals out. When we are more comfortable att he back as we are becoming we will once again go for more goals.
Yesterday was not the "worst" display. It was a battling fearful display where neither team wanted to lose therefore did not take any chances. After the sending off Watford had 1 "alright" chance.
About the formation i will not listen to anyone who says pulis got it wrong. If you saw Watford in the first 20 mins they cam out like a raging bull after 5 draws! We had to combat this. As soon as half time came pulis did something i thought i would never see him do take off a CB for a striker. Its not his fault the players were too scared to venture out more.
Through all his failings over the seasons Pulis got Watford right. With 4 defenders in the first 20 mins and simmo in goal i think we would have been 2 down imo.

I would take stoke winning 66% of all their games one-nil every season and losing the others 8-0. All that matters is we have 7 more games and the ticket to the promised land is ours to lose
