I've been following these stories of faults being found with the new iPhone since yesterdays release.
I'm sure Nokia or whoever would recommend you don't drop your phone, the signal problem is quite amusing, Apple must of known about this as they recommended you get the bumper cover for the phone, £25 ouch.

I wonder what discussions were had at the iPhone 4 development meeting when someone had the bright idea of covering both the front and back in glass?
Steve Jobs - It want it to be totally awesome, I want it covered completely in glass.
Everyone else - Not sure that's a good idea Steve, even with gorilla glass, it will probably break if you dropped it on a corner.
Steve Jobs - Do you want to work for Apple or not?
Everyone else - Let's go and buy some glass, and buy shares in protective case companies.

Allthought regarding the signal thing, the 3gs does the exact same thing, why is it a problem?

This is now my third iphone 3GS 16 meg.
The first phone suffered from the speakers failing (they blamed it on water damage but it had been no where near water). The second one died through a complefe and irrepairable software crash.
Both were replaced

Glad I didn't Upgrade to be honest, Nothing wrong with the 3gs. Exactly my opinion too. Apparently the yellowing screen issue is resolving itself. The rumour is that the bonding agent between the screen and the unit hadn't dried and the backlight was showing it up yellow. www.macrumors.com/2010/06/24/iphone-4-screen-blotching-resolves-itself-as-bonding-agent-dries/Other than that I've had a play of one and in all honesty I couldn't justify the price difference. iOS 4 makes my 3GS virtually identical.

Does your 3GS have a 5mp camera? Does your 3GS have front facing camera? Does your 3GS have a flash? Does your 3GS have Wireless N Networking? Does your 3GS have HD 720p Video recording? Does your 3GS have 960x640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi? Does your 3GS have 3-axis gyro? Does your 3GS have HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100MHz)? Does your 3GS have 800:1 contrast ratio (typical)? Does your 3GS have the same battery power as the 4G? Does your 3GS lose signal if you hold it wrong? Like I said, not true.

I'm sticking with my 3GS. Does everything I need. Being a photographer I keep an 8MP camera in my bag all the time anyway so no reason to upgrade for that, I don't use it for video and I don't play games on it really.

All of these things hardly making any difference, for a worthy upgrade, only the screen is worth it, possibly but i'm not even sure of that. Face it.

Steve Jobs says the fix for the new iPhone's signal problem is to "Just avoid holding it in that way."
I have a better fix, For this to work you'll need a credit card.
1. Hold the credit card by any of it's corners.
2. Put it in your pocket.
3. Don't pay £500 for a handheld device you can't fucking hold.
