I was a little bit surprised he has chosen to comment on England when he stands a chance of getting into the rebuilt squad for Euro qualifiers. He didn't say anything controversial, but I would't have passed any comment particularly after what has been said this week.

What John Terry should have. Nothing out of the ordinary but he did agree that Copello is very rigid (tactic wise ) he did say how good Joe Cole is and also wonders why they are not playing to the level the do for their clubs.

1. No reference made to Stoke at all. 2. When Heskey was discussed, perhaps wisely, Matty never made any kind of comment 3. Agreed that Capello's tactics were quite rigid. 4. When Lennon was criticised for not whipping enough crosses in to Rooney, Matty was supportive of him, saying that wingers need a decent supply to do their job properly. He also said that Lennon wasn't the type of winger who would track back much (had to chuckle at that one). 5. Said that Dawson should have been selected over Upson and that his lack of experience should not matter after the good form he's shown this season.. 6. Said that he's an old friend and admirer of Joe Cole's and couldn't understand why he hadn't been used so far.

Did he say who hes backing to win the cup

Thats dross from Matty. Strikers say the same thing. Who supplies strikers? The wingers!!

If the winger has a lack of passes though to him, it means he gets less of a chance to run and cross. The winger needs a decent supply of ball to do that.

Uncderstanmdable that matty is defending a fellow winger BUT how about Lennon going looking for it and as well as that....Lennon had several chances to run at defenders and get to the line but didn't have the bottle.

But the thing is he said it about Lennon! Did he mention that Lennon was through against the USA and could have shot to put us 2 up but chose a vague hopeful pass instead? I bet he didn't. Players need to take more responsibility instead of blaming everything else for errors.
Thinking about it Lennnos had plenty of supply so Matty is talking testicles on that.

In general and about Lennon. Everyone pointing the finger at each other. If we get knocked out tonight each player will think they have done nothing wrong. Apart from Green. Mind you, Gerrard tried to blame the ball for that ferfuxache.
