a bit OTT admittedly but you can't deny it was a very poor advert for the top of the Championship. Who gives a monkeys what that rag thinks anyway??

Jesus if I could count the amount of times I have fell asleep whilst attempting to watch tippy tappy football from the premiership in the past. Its all blah blah blah journalism.
I bet Mike Walters was stroking his own cock whilst writing this.

we are top of the league for results over 39 games, not because of saturday, though if you were just judging either side on that then it's fair to say you wouldn't consider either good enough to be top.
Though neither would you consider Bristol city of Brazil very hot on saturdays showing so as I said we're top becuase of the points we have gained over 39 games and not one match with Watford.

Same old shite journalism, we should be used to it. We are top of the league, so results don't lie, let the idiots say what they please. They would never be happy unless Brazil and Charltontina were fighting it out up there anyhow

Why should we be 'embarassed' to be top of the league???? Surely if teams like West Brazil and Charlton are so great and we are so shite then *they* should be embarassed at letting us get there?

I personally can't believe the criticism. - and the service was lousier than the queue for KFC at a motorway service station on a Bank Holiday weekend. - I am certain the staff there try their best

Agree, we ARE top by right. In other words after 39 games Stoke City have been the best team in the league. (Very) poor performance on Saturday agreed, but the mark of a good team is ..........! One alarming stat though from The Sunday Mercury: - Shots on target - 0; Shots off target - 0, don't think I've ever seen that before.

Christ on a bike - they just keep on feeding us the motivational material don't they? TP could pay for a life coach for each member of the squad and be shelling out £30k a week for this kind of stuff, but it wouldn't be anywhere near as effective.
Keep it coming guys!

Personally i'm ecstatic we're top. But Saturday's performance was truly woeful.
Tony set the team up to be ultra negative - which I was happy with, until they had useless sent off.
Playing against ten men for 70 minutes without even threatening (or having a shot on target) is downright embarrasing - regardless of where we are in the league or how many games we've played.
Tony's done a fantastic job to date, but in one isolated game he clearly displayed his tactical, motivational and mental limitations. Not knocking him just stating a fact.

As a rider, I notice they didn't comment on Watfords flowing, Brazil syle football. Mind They are three point behind, with a game in hand, ex Premiership,so there's still time for English football to be saved.

All season I've been laughing in the faces of these so-called 'experts' and their constant criticism of The Potters. They've all staked their reputaiton on West Brom, Watford and Charlton running away with the league and now they're looking a bit stupid about it all.
However, the toughest bit about reading that Mirrror report is that the description of Stoke's performance on Saturday is spot on. It was not a display worthy of a team trying to win promotion.
The point WAS fantastic and had it come off the back of a good display, or at least an intent to try and win the game, or perhaps if we'd been the side down to ten men, then I'd be celebrating like crazy.
As it is though, we went for a 0-0 draw and when they went down to ten men we made no real attempt whatsoever to try and capitalise on the situation.
That said, it's over and done with and now we have to look forwards instead of backwards. We're top of the table with seven games to and five wins and two draws from this point forward almost certainly means Premiership football next season!
We have to go for it and not show the timid, frightened approach that could so easily have turned Saturday into a disaster.

teflon del that was hilarious, have some karma youth
Don't let anybody be deluded by the view that getting promoted to the Prem is easy/piece of cake - look at those teams which have tried and failed (some having spent outrageous sums of money in their attempt).
7 games left, anyone can win it, best 2 teams over 46 games will go up. Simple as.

Many journos may not have seen us many times this season...what they saw was the top side in the league and the second highest scorers in that league having watfors down to ten men...a win and it would leave us 6 pts clear of the third place team. Zero shots suggest we were not interested in giving it a go...and thats down to the manager. Lots on here may be saying it was a point gained...but for a pen save our negative tactics we probably would have lost it unless we shook off the negative tactics. It was a classic case of stating our credentials as promo candidates and severely denting our nearest rivals....many would be bemused that we didnt. Lets hope Watford dont pip us by one point this season

As I have already said before for TP now this is not unfamilar territory is it just reverse in the league. I am pretty sure in his mind we are sitting second from bottom and simply cannot afford to lose so he goes to type and looks where to gain and not lose points. I nearly pissed myself on Saturday when the foramtion was announced as 3 - 4 - 3...I mean come on. It wasn't hard to work out it was going to be 5 - 4 - 1.
Just hope his tactics don't make the players to nervy.

I ain't in anyway embarrassed - I am sure West Brazil are feeling a bit more embarassed at having there arses handed to them by Leicester at home!

I thought that from half time we changed to 442 & with Gally on the pitcg qwe win principle were 'going for it'.
however we created nothing, despite plenty of aaaard work.
for once I think that TP reacted correctly to the game situation & we didnt play well (in fact going forward we stank) dur to other factors.
Stoke look tired, reminiscent of 1995 when we ran out of steam @ the last.
Fuller should be sent back to Jmaica for a fortnight to recharge his batteries & plenty of the other look mentally exhusted to me.
Shawcross was superb & he's just had a little break. I suspect Liam will be 'on fire' when he comes back too.

Probably get us even more press if everyone bellowed that one out!!!

A fair reflection on the game. We are quite rightly top on the 39 games we've played and not the last three or four alone.
That said after 5 straight wins, we've lost 2 won 1 and drawn 2 for 5 points. We've reached the top and gone into our shell.
I predict a defeat at home to Blackpool, a TP rethink and then an unbeaten run to see us up.
