;D ;D
Where it began, I can't begin to know when But then I know it's growing strong Oh, wasn't the spring, whooo And spring became the summer Who'd believe you'd come along
Hands, touching hands, reaching out Touching me, touching you Oh, sweet Caroline Good times never seem so good I've been inclined to believe it never would
And now I, I look at the night, whooo And it don't seem so lonely We fill it up with only two, oh And when I hurt Hurting runs off my shoulder How can I hurt when holding you
Oh, one, touching one, reaching out Touching me, touching you Oh, sweet Caroline Good times never seem so good Oh I've been inclined to believe it never would
Ohhh, sweet Caroline, good times never seem so good
a promotion song to be sung by the stoke fans against leicester ;D

Lived south of Boston for a number of years , naturally i'm a Sox Fan and got to Fenway a few times a year and Sweet Caroline being sung by 35,000 fans is pretty amazing .

That's a great pop song, the 2nd or 3rd single I ever bought, on a yellow Uni label, 1971.
Have to say, much prefer it to Delilah.

"never heard it, don't know the tune, sorry Neil Diamond just isn't in the same league" There's nothing like good judgement based on facts.

the fact I can't sing it, or hum the tune tells me its not in the same league as Sir Thomas of Jones

"the fact I can't sing it, or hum the tune tells me" I've never heard the song so can't make a valid judgemnet.

All depends if it gets sung at a match with conviction though I dunna think it will beat Delilah ever.

I listen to enough music , my mum had some Neil diamond tapes when i was a kid, of the stuff she listened to I have my own copies that I liked , The Who, Beatles, Hendrix, John Denver, ABBA I don't have a copy of Neil Diamond... ergo I don't like it

ID, the fact you wouldn't listen to it in your spare time doesn't mean it wouldn't make a good football song. I hate vindaloo and wouldn't listen to it for pleasure, but love the "time to go....fuck off" rendition. Also, you did say you'd never heard it and don't know the tune so your mother's tapes are neither here nor there really, are they?
