Is this an increase of 5,000 on the existing capacity?

Presumably this'll be an extra 500 tickets for the away fans then? Which will boost the capacity to roughly 18,000 and should give us roughly 1800 tickets.

Is this an increase of 5,000 on the existing capacity? No - the existing temporary stand on the east side holds 1,800 I think.

I think that would seem about right, but from this i think there hoping sell 13,500 season tickets www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10432~2062782,00.html

I'd say that is probably correct. Of course we don't know if the Blackpool fans will sell out or whether they will make more than the minimium 10% of seats available to away fans.

They say it will be nearer 17k:
"Oyston explained that the club had considered all options possible before making the decision which will take the capacity of Bloomfield Road to more than 17,000."
Still way down on what's needed to make a fist of staying up I'd say. But that said, their wage bill must be all of 2s & 6d.

realstokebloke - if you must go pre-decimal currency, the correct way to express 'ayfa crine' is 2/6d!!!!!

How quickly we are judging the "smaller" clubs such as Burnley and Blackpool, remember, 2 years ago people were saying exactly the same about us.

Blackpool is an hour and a half up the motorway though isn't it making it much easier to get to and enjoy as an away day.
Couple that with the fact that the place is a magnet for pissed up blokes wanting to go into numerous bars and drink dodgy cheap ale, sing songs to opposing football fans up there on stag parties/birthdays and it is the ideal away day for many.
Like many, I think Blackpool is an absolute shit-hole and don't see the attraction of going on the piss up there over places like Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds etc. It will however be one great away day for us though especially if we get them in August or late on in the season.
