What a great night that was.
Went on a coach, part way there the windscreen smashed. The driver kept going to get us there even though it was snowing.
We had to wait after the game for the windscreen to be repaired. We played footy outside the ground. Even the team left before we did.

I was behind the goal that night.
Standing with a low roof is the perfect combo to really make some noise !

I was behind the goal that night. Standing with a low roof is the perfect combo to really make some noise ! Me too right behind the shot in fact. You weren't the big hairy Stokie that picked me up and planted a smacker on me when it went in? I was about 20yrs and 6ft but he still lifted me about 4ft in the air!

I was there behind the goal. I seem to remember we should have scored from the restart?? The first taste of success I had as a supporter. Following Stoke home and away was so much better back then.

I was in Barcelona at Barca V Benfica semi final of the European cup. I left early and spent several hours trying to get the match result, TV system was down, eventually a mate sent a fax to my hotel with the score on it.

I was there too! - I was in the corner of the main stand, with the Stoke supporters who were not behind the goal. I remember the party atmosphere and balloons! I did not see Ware hit it, but I did see it hit the back of the net and the Stokies going mental. We drove miles to get there, and I remember the Posh ground was much less impressive than the Vic. Went to Wembley too. One nil to de Stoke City. The only downside was the Autoglass run cost us promotion, as we seemed to play a million games in the run-in that season. But that does not matter now!!

Some great posts as usual I went to the 3-3 and the final but my dad couldn't drive down to this one so i watched it in a pub in shropshire where i was living. The first game i had ever seen on sky sports i'm sure of it. The elation at the finish with all you lot going bananas behind the goal. Great scenes and that was the moment this lad knew he was going to see stoke walk out at wembley stadium PS The link to the first leg is written into the article, click where it says 'here' on the piece,

Remember singing we're the famous stoke city and we're going to wembley for about an hour - lost my voice by the time we got to the pub ! Got my mate coming to stoke tonight who i went with he will enjoy that memory - our wives downstairs shaking their heads as usual while we recall our stoke memories !!

I broke a bone in my foot about a week before the game. I strapped it up and put a sturdy pair of walking boots on to protect it but after Tupper scored about 20 Stokies danced all over my foot. I didn't feel it at the time because of all the euphoria but after it throbbed like a bastard.

I remember going to the first leg, and one of the memories was the age it took Bertie to sort out his ring before/after the goal.
And remember going to my nextdoor neighbours place to watch the second leg on Sky.
Footie seemed much more fun back then, the atmosphere looked excellent for the car product trophy!

Was sat pretty much level with Ware when he took the kick. I remember saying why the hell is he taking it :-) Biggins was suspended of course. Great night..........we were denied a blatant penalty when Foley I think was taken down.

anyone else remember that bloke who climbed along the underside of the roof? very random thing to do. there was a great pic in the sentinel of his legs just dangling down above the crowd. great day. love on the video how Foxy grabs his little man bag out of the net and sprints off as though he is expecting a massive pitch invasion.

Was so so pissed and so so happy I invited anyone in the pub to join me in a celebratery curry at the monzil and I would pay..... cost me a fooking fortune as about 20 took up the offer, wouldn't have swapped it for the world though, was sooooooo happy that night
