Unfair BSR. I've always been a supporter of Lawrence. Loved him in our promotion season. Thought he got back close to his best after recovering from the "dog incident". But I really haven' seen anything like the form from him in the past season that he showed in previous seasons.
Right from pre season something just didn't seem right. Even down to his penalties. He had a 100% record for us until he missed one at Preston in a pre season game. Then he missed with his next one against Blackpool after wrestling the ball away from Tuncay who won the penno.
In the games he played both before and after the France game for ROI he hardly tracked back, didn't put his usual accurate crosses, corners or free kicks in and just didn't look the player from earlier seasons.
It is a pity and it is frustrating that he seems to be able to raise his game for Ireland but it probably is best for him and us that he moves on providing we can get a decent fee for him - which we probably will on the strength of his performances for his adopted country. If we got a decent offer for Whelan I'd let him move as well to be honest because, like Liam his best performances are coming for his country not us.

Although I agree with Lakeland on most of his points, Lawrence clearly did not play enough games last season. He was replaced by Whitehead, who could always be excused due to being played out of position, and Rory who needed to be accomodated anywhere on the pitch due to the throw. So, for me, Liam was always the best option on the right of midfield as he is the best player at the club in that position.

Eactly Assassin.
spitthedog-NO!
Liam NEEDS games and ALL wingers are hit and miss at times but always a threat, Whitehead and Delap offer NOTHING from wide right and its painful viewing!
