Alright everyone, now that we know next year's 20 for sure, put your markers down. Who will be the three to return to the CCC next year? For my money, it'll be: Blackpool (sorry, just too small) Baggies ( ;D ;D ;D) Bolton (always has to be a surprise, and I'm still hoping to see Owen Coyle get his) Honorable Mention: Wigan if Notlob manage to stay up... FWIW, here's the early odds involving all 20: www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation

I wouldn't want to make any predictions until the transfer window shuts at the end of august TBH
Any of these teams you mention could use their new found wonga to purchase a few key players capable of keeping them in with a shout of staying up.
Suprised you haven't mentioned West Ham TBH, they only just stayed up this season, are £100M in debt, and need to move on players

blackpool (allthough hope i'm wrong) just cant see how they will attract the players to keep them up, we struggled with a 27500 stadium to attract in the first season and they've come up through the play-offs.
wolves
whu - them muppets in charge will take them down when they have this fire-sale.

Pretty short odds on Newcastle, I would have thought they will be fine not when they only have free transfers to pick from, unless they manage to sell some players first. Ashley has already said that their transfer budget will only come from any money generated by player sales

West Ham at 5/1 is the stand-out there, and one I'll be investing in.
With those two clowns running things, next season has the potential to be a disaster. the only thing that might save them is that they do still have a strong spine to the team in Green-Upson-Parker-Cole. If that starts being broken up though, they'll be in trouble.
Blackpool will certainly find things difficult and although i wish them well, I can't see them having enough. Won't be backing them at short odds-on though.
Wigan at 5/2 is interesting, as they seem set for a struggle to hang on to players.
Think the Baggies might stay up this time!

West Brom will be 20th with a single figure points tally, but they will light up the league with their 'beautiful football'. then any 2 out of these: Bolton Blackpool Wigan West Ham Wolves Arsenal

Be very careful. We haven't reached the end of the transfer window yet, there's a long way to go still. Remember how many messageboards wrote us off just like this? Even after the first game of the season, we still went on to sign Abdy, so let's just wait and see.
Personally, I wouldn't like an away game at Blackpool at the start of the season (purely for footballing reasons, it'd probably be a good away day)

Can't see Wolves going down I have to say.
Blackpool (sadly, although I hope they stay up, unless it's at our expense) Wigan (please god, they shouldn't be in this league) Newcastle

West Brom still can't defend! They remain a yo-yo club because they have an unfair advantage of parachute payments everytime they get relegated!
Blackpool will struggle big style, so will West brom. The remaining relegation spot will be between whoever fooks up on or off the pitch

Blackpool Brazil Wigan
Would be my guess right now. Wolves, Bolton or West Ham wouldn't surprise me. I think Stoke are in the next bunch of teams that might struggle.
Can't see the top 8+Fulham having much trouble.
I want blackpool to stay up as well (unless it's at our expense ofc), but I don't think they'll manage it.
Holloway was talking about being a good footballing/attacking side. If they stick to that I can see them getting ripped a new one. Check out the goal differences we've seen for 'footballing' sides like Wigan, Hull and Burnley this season, whilst Stoke, Birmingham & Blackburn have ground out results and let in about 25 fewer goals each. (ofc, Birmingham have Hart to thank for a load of those!)

With a few shrewd signings/loans, I could see Olly suprising a few people. like Hull did early on and Stoke have done in the longer term. I wonder if any of our players will be there come the start of the season?

Even after the first game of the season, we still went on to sign Abdy, so let's just wait and see. Obviously. But waiting and seeing means we can't have this conversation for fun at this point. That's the beauty of football! Talk about it now, talk about later, change your mind if you want. Personally, I wouldn't like an away game at Blackpool at the start of the season (purely for footballing reasons, it'd probably be a good away day) I wouldn't have liked a game at Burnley at the beginning of the season either - thankfully we had them at home - , but they were never going to have the steam to stay up. I could be wrong, of course, and wish them well. Let's not take ourselves too seriously.

In some ways the tail seems to be getting smaller. Last year, Dull, Pompey, Burley, Wolves, Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn all looked as though they would struggle from the off. I feared also for West Ham - Zola claimed he didn't need to sign any more strikers leaving him with Cole and no-one always looked suicidal. I suspected / hoped we would finish above all of these and was fortunately right.
This year we have the promoted 3 - 2 of which should not do as badly as last time. If there's a % on the possible Milner transfer Newcastle will be in a much better position (who'd put it past them to have screwed that on up?).
After that you have West Ham, Wigan and Wolves. Thereafter I'm struggling for obvious candidates. Blackburn and Bolton have steadied themselves with Coyne and Allardice so that leaves Sunderland and us as potential fall guys.
If we don't strengthen then bottom 6 stares us in the face.

Can I just remind everyone that Ourselves, Wolves, Hull, and Birmingham were nailed on faves to go down in the first year. Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan are perpetual candidates aswell accoring to so called experts.
I wouldn't like to, nor do I feel that I can predict who will go down. It just seems a bit arrogant to me.

H So, in a league where survival itself is everything (unless you're in the top 4-6), it is arrogant to have a discussion about who might be tipped to go down in the coming season? What the hell do you do for fun? You've got to get over yourself, it's a damn football message board, FFS.
