Maradona is going to use four centre-backs at the world cup. How dare he copy Pulis's blueprint Although Maradona clearly has no idea, we all know you don't need full-backs ;D "I'm going to defend with four centre-backs, but I'm also going to have full-backs available in case we need to improve coming out of defence." www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_6148489,00.html

Thought for a moment it said that Madonna was adopting Pulis's schoolkids.

Did I read somewhere he's used 91 different players since taking over? ;D
Very fortunate to qualify, and certainly don't concern me going into this tournament.

His visit to the Brit obviously left a big impression on him. And just goes to prove that Pulis is a tactical genius

I can't believe he's not taking Cambiasso. Good news for everyone else I guess.

Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez, Diego Milito, Sergio Aguero, Martin Palermo & Ezequiel Lavezzi up top to choose from up front concern me just a little bit. ;D I suppose we do have big Emile Heskey to lead our attack though.

Maradona is going to lose argentina the world Cup single handedly (no pun intended there honestly).
Cambiasso was superb in defence throughout the season. The icing on the cake being his perfomances in stopping the most formidable attacking force in football at bay in the semi-final of the Champions league. who does Diego choose instead.......... the championship promotion winner- owd geordie curly bollocks.
You have to laugh don't you. For all of their greatness in attack, they mess up and leave their best defender out.

To be honest, I'd go for a stylish 4-3-3 with; Gago . Cambiasso . Lucho
Aguero . Tevez . Messi Well, I would if Marafuckingdona hadn't left out all 3 of their best Midfielders. ;D

More of a dig at centre halves at full back and Pulis than Maradona! And it's not ashame at all! He's picked Veron, Palermo, Gutierrez and Collocini as well, madness!

He must of snorted some strong shit before picking the squad, leaving out cambiasso and zanetti, two of the mainstays in inters run to champions league final and another scudetto. Think he left out millito(defender) and gago aswell, then instead he picks maxi who has played about 4 times for liverpool and collocini who has been playing in the championship, it baffles me. But i still think they will end up progressing further than us, just through the strength of their attack.

Unfortunately, this virtually guarantees Argentina are going to have a good World Cup.
They have been experimenting with 4-4-1-1 for a couple of games, but to go with 4 centre backs as well is a sound move.
In 10 years, full backs will be considered quirks of history like half backs and inside halves.

For Barcelona Messi plays on the right of a front three. He has colleagues around him to play off and make little runs for him to take markers away and create space for him and also to play dinky one twos with. For Argentina he is isolated. There is a dark suggestion that Maradona deliberately plays him in the shade so as not to outshine his legend.
Not taking Cambiasso is daft. And I know Zanetti is old but he could provide good experience and that.
