Aidy Boothroyd happy for Watford to win ugly

Adrian Boothroyd admits that Watford have no qualms about turning the beautiful game into an ugly affair as they prepare to host equally direct Stoke City in the Championship today.
Second-placed Stoke have also been subjected to fierce criticism over their 'Land of the Giants' style.
Boothroyd, however, remains defiant, claiming that both teams deserve credit for their achievements. He believes Watford will continue to confound the critics with their uncompromising style in an effort to propel themselves back into the Premier League.
"To me, it's about winning games, rather than the style of play," Boothroyd said. "I don't worry about credit. I've been fortunate that my team are more than what people think we are.
"You could play the most attractive football in the world, the way people want it to be played, and finish mid-table. But I'm a winner and so is everyone else at this club. That's what I do - win.
"We're a little bit more than what people say we are and I won't shout about it until we get promoted. Stoke have done very well and I won't be disrespectful about the way they play.
"I love watching West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City, but I won't ever tell another manager how to do a job. You're judged on your record, which is after 46 games."
Watford sit four points behind leaders Bristol City, having played one game fewer, and with nine fixtures remaining, Boothroyd knows his players can ill-afford any slip-ups against Stoke.
"I'm expecting this to be the 'mother of all wars' - that's what Saddam Hussain said. This is what you want, you want these top-of-the-table clashes. Bristol City was a good point gained, but now we're at home and need the three points.
"Stoke get a lot of stick for the way they play but they win and you have to respect that. We have to defend set-plays and if we can counter-attack we can get something.
"I think the team that will win will be the team that does something different. Sometimes it's something unexpected that could prove crucial."

nice to hear a manager giving us proper respect for a change sounds worried hell have to hit us on the break.
