Yes, I know it'll be a shock to most of you.
However, the fixture list has to be seriously reconsidered by those who make the decisions, so that the clubs - and fans in particular - are taken into consideration.
I know that there will never be 100% delight from all clubs in a particular division simply because travel, work patterns, geography and so on mean someone will be irritated at least once in a season.
That doesn't mean they can't make the bloody effort to minimise the inconvenience!
Fans Forum, please bring this up for the club to take it further.
Thank you.

Got this back here because I truly believe it's a debate worth having.

I totally agree Not everyones going to be happy with the way its organised with local teams not playing at home together to consider, but surely it would be noticed that stoke had to travel to barnsley and Plymouth within 3 or 4 days of each other.
Just a bit of thought can save a lot of complaining by managers later in the season

Three games in a week sometimes and we could (hyperthetically) be at Plymouth, followed by Hull then Southampton.
It's ridiculous that no effort at all appears to be made to consider fans and their pockets as well as the distances involved and time taken.
There is also the point to be made that excessive travel cuts down on tactical preparation time as well because teams have to set off that much earlier.
I haven't even mentioned carbon footprints!

I thought Pulis' comments as reported on BBC website were a complete pile of shite! Having to travel to Norwich on a Tuesday night is inconvenient but no big deal. How were the FA/FL to know that Watford would field a team of "warriors" in a fixture in March? I agree that the FA/FL can do more with regard to holiday fixtures at Xmas & Easter but TP's comments about this weeks fixtures are petty and not worth consideration. He does not do himself any favours spouting shite like that (I have not heard the full interview and base my comments only on what I have read on the BBC website). So Tony, shut the fuck up about the fixture list and concentrate your mind on why we failed to beat a 10 man Watford side, or similarly important things lsuch as gaining promotion.

It wouldn't be too difficult in this division to arrange things so that games scheduled as night games when the original fictures are published should be against teams within a 120 mile radius. Apart from Plymouth (who are nearly 120 miles from their nearest club) of course.

Given that Stoke-on-Trent is roughly in the centre of the country, don't we have to do less travelling than virtually anyone else?
I have nothing but admiration for the way Tony Pulis has managed the team in the face of a great deal of criticism this season - who'd have thought we'd be top at this stage? - but his comments about travelling are rather bizarre.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't his family still live on the south coast and doesn't he, therefore, spend a lot of (unncecessary?) time travelling himself?
That aside, well done Tony for a great season!

The fact remains that the fixture list planners don't take the FANS into account.
It's bloody expensive to travel these days, although by coach doesn't seem to be too bad. It's also a problem for prople who work shifts. The TV companies dictate which games will be live and kick-off times. This NEVER takes the fans into consideration.
As has been said above, the players should really not have a problem as they're well looked after. Having said that, I reiterate my comment about tactical training, which can be rushed or even foreshortened because of team travel arrangements.
It's an issue that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

pjbo - you have a point; but I don't have the details on his time there.
cbl - what a great name! hahahahaha .... and no, it isn't; but the issue is with the PLANNING of the fixtures and how often the fixtures are badly arranged.
I bet something would be done about it if one of the "big 4" complained.
