There's no doubt that Boothroyd is a surprise, but swapping Pericard's wages for his is a great move. At least may be able to use Boothroyd. It looks like he is here to play in the Sidibe mould and would seem, on paper at least, to offer more than Sidibe does. Of course time will tell but Pulis is renowned for getting the best out of strikers when others give up. Bringing in Nugent or someone like him in addition to Boothroyd may be just what we need to 'freshen' things up.

Sidibe mould??? Nope. Wonderfully talented, but can't be fucked to work, the complete opposite of Sidibe, except he is the same height

Wonderfully talented, but can't be fucked to work, the complete opposite of Sidibe, That does seem to be the consensus from the Wolves fans, doesn't it? Which makes it a baffling TP signing on the face of it. Can you imagine him and Fuller playing together? Wolves fans make him sound so lazy and unpredictable that he makes Gallagher sound like Sidibe. A much better sub than Pericard obviously. But haven't we already got a very gifted sub to come on and play wide or up front for 20 minutes?

He hasn't got a huge physical presence though(Gallagher), which i believe Tone wants in a striker who plays from the start... Jay's a big lad AND can play so that's probably his thinking behind this ;D
I think if Bothroyd has a good game against Watford,or even nicks a goal, it will be him and Fuller all the way barring suspensions.
I still can't see us signing Nugent, he is very unfit, and will just keep picking his money up at Pompey
But i hope i'm wrong!
And i usually am ;D

he's not in the Sidbe mould at all! Perhaps Pulis likes Parkin so much that he's decided he needs more talented but lazy players around the place?
I'm not sure that rebuilding Ade's confidence and putting Fuller in a division where his talent can shine exactly confirms that Pulis is the man to bring out the talent in strikers - not when compared with his lack of ability in getting the best out of Greenacre, Asaba, Ricketts, Parkin, Patterson, Rooney, Pericard etc etc
All of that said- Bothroyd is certainly a better option than Parkin or Pericard -and he does seem to do okay for about a month or so and then loses interest -so as long as we don't sign him permamently his one month loan is fine by me.

he's not in the Sidbe mould at all! Correct godo. He's about as much like Mama as I am ... and I'm white and 5ft-7" You have to assume Nugent is too unfit (or too lazy) to sign and that Eastwood isn't available (to us anyway). Boythroyd, a very odd choice. But, that said, you didn't find too many Stokies delighted at the signing of Ade, when it first occurred, but that turned out OK. Big, black, once-highly-thought-of, temperamental = Pulis-Playerah PS - what's the point of me paying the extortionate membership prices for this place if absolutely no one is going to get this sort of information before the deal takes place ... shocking. Is FM/Grapey on holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

" ... but Pulis is renowned for getting the best out of strikers ..."
Like Parkin and Pericant?
Like playing a PROVEN goalscorer on the wing?
Cresswell has scored 11/12 goals from the wing, how many more would he have scored from his best position?
