I can only really remember from the Fradley Homes kit onwards, although I would have watched us play in the last Cristal Tiles tops.

What a great little website. Very well researched. What I like is that it confirms that we were indeed the first team ever, IN THE WORLD, to wear red and white stripes...a fact that my Sunderland and Southampton-supporting mates seem to have a problem accepting...!
By the way, check out the Vale's kit from 1898-1902. ;D

I'm the second Carling generation onwards, though I definitely remeber loving Stoke from the first Carling top... I think that's when I met Steino. The green and black stripes still remains my favourite ever way kit. I hate the yellow shirts.

Actually, I think I have a Stoke shirt that's not on that selection, it's an Ansells one that I bought at a jumble sale, it has the 80's badge on it but the sponsor panel is black and it doesn't have the black on the arms although it has a black collar...

I started going in the 93-94 season and am only missing four from my collection since then.
I really want the 94-96 Green and Black shirt in XL. Anyone fancy selling theirs?

My first was the yellow Fradley Homes design but with the Ansells logo.
I'd pay £30 if anyone had it still in good nick.

Had a dabble with that Umbro one on e-bay. What did it go for in the end?

i loved the 97-99 home top...it was a dodgey material of some sort but looked cracking, the thin stripes always look best.

It's amusing how the 96/97 top just said TOK on the front. I liked that top back in the day as well

Tubes,
I can only advise regular e-bay checks or even set up a search which e-mails you when new shirts are listed.
The 92-93 is on from time, but obviously a rarer occurence,

yes, the 75 black collar strip was the first one I had with a number 8 on the back of course! For some obscure reason, my parents got me a bloody Manchester United shirt the following year, I was gutted. After it found its way into the bin, it was replaced by a Peter Shilton style blue keepers top, which I often wore in goal for the school team, it was warmer than the kit bag green one. My fave recent top was the white collar carling top from 95, I also have 2 of the carling keepers tops in green and yellow, which I still wear every week in the works 5-a-side, happy days!

I start in '95 with the Broxap top.
Gotta agree that the '77-'83 tops were truly excellent, vastly better than some of the shite that we have in recent years. I want to buy a new shirt, but they are just too ugly. Not one for Le Coq or Puma (except for the '04-'05 with the collar)

No away shirts prior to mid 60's? That's when men were men - if there was a colour clash one side simply took their tops off.

What I like is that it confirms that we were indeed the first team ever, IN THE WORLD, to wear red and white stripes...a fact that my Sunderland and Southampton-supporting mates seem to have a problem accepting...! Its true that we were the first ever team to wear the red and white stripes. For some strange reason though we changed the kit for a few years and during that time Sunderland registered the red and white stripes with the FA as there own official kit. Under the rules of football this means that if we play sunderland at the brit they are within there rights to ask us to play in our away shirt and they play in the red and white. Its highly unlikely that they would ever ask us to change but if they did it would piss a lot of people off. Just thought I would share that useless bit of info with you all.
