it looks unlikely that hull will be signing him at the end of the season especially if they go down, i think he's got massive potential and hasn't been too bad for them has he? i think he'd improve our options up front but would cost around £6 mill

Nothing better than we already have, or maybe about to get rid of in my opinion!! Not a 'good finisher' really.

6 million ?/ for a 20 yr old American forward ?? why does it matter where they come from? You have to admit that 20 year old Brazilian forward sounds much more appealing.

Altidore looks useful and would be a good buy, but for no more than £2.5m.

Rodallega only had a record of 1 in 5 games for Wigan, in his first season in English football. One season and 9 goals later he's suddenly in the 10m+ bracket. That's how daft it is.
Wigan last season were a far superior side to Hull this season IMHO.
Take a punt on Altidore and you could end up with a donkey. You might also end up with another 10m+ player.
You never know.

Altidore could be the next fuller, big and strong, quick and a fair bit of skill.....plenty of opportunity for development at that age

Well see how far in South Africa we Yanks have come with our players ... Altidore would thrive at Stoke under Pulis.

Undecided about Altidore, he seems to have potential.
Maybe because he is playing in a poor side is the reason why I dont jump up and down when his name is mentioned.
Saying that I wouldnt fork out £6M for him but I certainly wouldnt mind him having a go at Stoke. Young, quick and powerful he could be the perfect foil for our talisman, the Great Ric Fuller.

I can see something in Altidore that would be worth taking a punt on but £6M has to be a joke £2M would be ample for a player yet to really prove he can cut it in the Prem.

potntial is there for sure
some decent experience, prem,La Liga & confederations cup (with SA to come) for a 20/21 year old.
quick,tricky,confident,strong.
£2m wouldnt buy you an average champ striker these days but £6m is too much.

Perhaps we could get him on a season long loan like Hull have him on now.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Stoke shirt.

£6m is too much, but what we are all forgetting is, the majority of deals are based around installments.
say if we paid £3m up front, then another £1.5m based on appearances another £1m on goals scored and £500k based on us reaching europe, would that be such a bad deal??
the Kitston deal was £5.5m but if reports are to be believed, we've only paid around £3.5m of that so far!

12 months ago we were getting excited by the likes of James Vaughan coming

Altidore and Victor Anichebe could be our Fuller and Mama style forward line for years to come. Both have got buckets of "raw potential" and have the size and power to thrive in a Pulis side.

Not the finished article, but a very good prospect.. I reckon the boy Altidore would take the piss in a decent side..
Strikers cant get high without supply..
Footnote: £6m would be a snip if he has a good World Cup..
