Carroll's growing on me, I must admit. But, realistically, why would he leave his home town, 50,000 every home game club for us? Definitely not Heskey. I think he's dramatically on the wane, from even the player he had morphed into, in the latter stages of his career. And he'll be 33 half way through next season.

We basically just need someone who we can launch a ball at!

Onuoha-is that just a random name being thrown about or is there any substancial (in terms of the Oatcake ) to it? Just a random Championship Manager-style bit of nonsense, Bayern, based on Man City probably going all next level and lashing another £200m out in the summer, the competition they already have in his positions (they've just agreed to pay £11m for some German who's going to add to Zabaleta, Richards and all their CBs), and the fact he's such a TP player. He'd be a very good signing if it did happen but I think he'd end up at a bigger club than us sadly.

Not a chance in hell, my friend. After watching his recent performances he is worth his weight in gold. Especially with them trying for Champs League. I wouldn't rule it out completely though. City are going to go all 'next level' if they get into the Champions League. Like Onuoha, this Jerome Boateng seems to be earmarked for the RB slot (although like Onuoha he's one of those who can play RB and CB) and hasn't come in to sit on the bench on colossal wages. And they've already got Zabaleta and Richards, who are in the mix there. And you can't see Onuoha getting a sniff at centre-half. Some of the Man City fans on their forum think he might get squeezed out - and maybe Richards too! I'm sure, ideally, thry'd like to keep him as good squad cover, but will he want to stay as out-and-out back-up behind all the big guns? If we could get Onuoha, he'd fit like a glove. Big, young, fast, English, and one of Pulis' favourite full-back/centre-half 2-in-1 types. If we got him, I would jizz everywhere. He looks quality, and he's got massive potential (and thats why I dont think they will let go). If we got him, most of our goals would come from huth, shawcross and him. The CM, target man and RB are the priorities, if we dont buy those positions god help us next season. I would say we failed in the transfer window

Cacau on a free, while not a "young Fuller", would certainly be a good option in a similar vein.

do you not rate wilko? Bardsley wouldnt improve us but i could actually see that happening I like Wilko - he's a better right back than Huth in my opinion, but he's vulnerable to pace and prone to the odd lunge - I'd hope he'd stay as very able cover for a classy, genuine right back. not really the place to discuss this but its a comment ive read somewhere before and just couldnt ignore it. I have to disagree with the wilko struggling against pace thing, he is by far the quickest defender we have, you only have to look at his ridiculous red card against portsmouth where he matched dindane stride for stride before out muscleing him

Will Roque Santa Cruz get many/any games at Man City next season? Tevez and Adebayor plus talk of at least one world superstar striker joining the ranks.
He seems one of the few tall, vaguely target men Premier League strikers who could be potentially available?
Aside from that ONE freaky season at Blackburn, his record is pretty appalling for such a renowned player. So would he be worth major investment? Would he be interested?
But he did look excellent in that one season, and could he fit into our system?
