Yeah, but there's a list on here someones posted where we're selling 13 players and there are no suggestions of who to buy. Well if we sell that many, we need to buy about 8 at least to make up the squad. And in the state things are in football wise at the moment, i can't see us buying 8,9 or 10 players over summer. And cobhamstokie has us selling 10, and buying 5. The term thread bare springs to mind, just because these players are 'squad players' you can't sell 'em all without replacing them. Or we will be in the shite. And Hustler has us selling 10 and buying 4! sorenson begovic simonsen wilko huth faye shawx higgy shotton shorey pugh whelan whitehead ohara eagles delap diao ethers arismendi sidibe fuller kitson tuncay moult zigic that is a good sized squad but granted we could do with another defender in there

I know what you mean, and i 100% agree ideally, i think ultimately it will be a case of trying to get players in before letting ones go. I know we have some dead wood, but we don't want to be short of backup. i agree with you there mate, get players in before letting players go

I wonder if there's any chance that we could get Onuoha from Man City?
Looks like they're spending £11m on a German RB/CB.
And with Zabaleta and Richards already there, there's going to be some movement somewhere

Especially with them trying for Champs League. Ive mentioned before, I think Parker is out of our league, just. We need Europa Legaue rejects One of..... O'hara Jenas Rodwell (on loan) Sidwell A pacey spanish winger not getting a look in at Valencia, Sevilla or Deportivo. A decent target man - maybe Carew (if MON can buy this summer)

Getting Rid of:

I dont think we are that far away from a really good team.
Sorro/Beg (Simmo on loan with recall) ?/Wilko/Huth Huth/Abdy Ryan/Higgy Colins/Higgy (rb is more important imo)
Petrov/Liam Woody/Delap O'Hara/Scharner/Sidwell/Whelan Matty/Tuncay/Hunt
Fuller/Tuncay/? Carew/Zigic/Cole/Kitson/Mama

Especially with them trying for Champs League. I wouldn't rule it out completely though. City are going to go all 'next level' if they get into the Champions League. Like Onuoha, this Jerome Boateng seems to be earmarked for the RB slot (although like Onuoha he's one of those who can play RB and CB) and hasn't come in to sit on the bench on colossal wages. And they've already got Zabaleta and Richards, who are in the mix there. And you can't see Onuoha getting a sniff at centre-half. Some of the Man City fans on their forum think he might get squeezed out - and maybe Richards too! I'm sure, ideally, thry'd like to keep him as good squad cover, but will he want to stay as out-and-out back-up behind all the big guns? If we could get Onuoha, he'd fit like a glove. Big, young, fast, English, and one of Pulis' favourite full-back/centre-half 2-in-1 types.

Yeah, to be honest I struggled to think of a right back but we definitely need one. I suspect we'll be signing Bardsley. Trust me, you don't want Bardsley. What do you think Bruce would say to Tuncay plus £5-6m for Kenwyne? www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/07/kenwyne-jones-sunderland-birmingham-city This article from Jan seems to suggest he's a fan Although the striker, recruited from Southampton by Roy Keane, can be virtually unplayable on his day, Sunderland's latest manager has been unimpressed by his attitude this season.
While Jones is believed to be interested in relocating to Birmingham, the prospect of joining Stoke is thought to be less appealing. Bruce is enticed by the prospect of taking one or more of Tony Pulis's players in part-exchange, particularly if the Turkey international Tuncay Sanli were part of any deal.
Sunderland's manager explored the possibility of signing Tuncay from Middlesbrough last summer and remains a big admirer of a forward who has experienced mixed fortunes at Stoke.

Trust me, you don't want Bardsley. What do you think Bruce would say to Tuncay plus £5-6m for Kenwyne? Personally I'd be gutted if that happened. Tuncay is not the type of player we need, whereas Jones is. I don't think that's going to happen, if Bruce wanted Tuncay he would have shown interest at the start of last season - contrary to that article I don't believe he did. Bruce's frustration with Jones has been well documented, and a few months ago I would have said, aye, Bruce will be selling him. Since Jones has pulled his finger out though, I get the impression that Bruce really rates him. If he were to leave however I don't think it would be to Stoke. At this point in his career he would want to make a step up, not a sideways one.

I wouldn't want to see Tuncay go. I'v been crying out for Stoke to sign a player like him for years. However, his attitude is very questionable, so I could see why we may let him go, but what a waste that would be.
Kenwyne Jones I am not fussed about, if we got him...great, but everytime it mentions our interest in him, it would seem Jones is just not interested in "lowering" himself to join us. His attitude too is questionable, would he be using us for a move if he did join?.
My wish signing would be John Carew, he would fit the bill perfectly.
Ins: Carew (wishful thinking) Rodallega O'Hara Pennant Ledley Belhadj Bullard?
Outs: Sonko Griffin Tonge Soares Moult - Loan Marshall - Loan Lund - Loan Amdy Faye Andrew Davies

Figueroa?
He can play left back and seems to play up the pitch better than Higgy usually does.
Bullard would be worth a punt on loan. Dorrans or Nolan would be great but I can't see WBA or the toon letting go. A CM playmaker is the most important - O'Hara? (his goal record is pretty crap though). Can't think of any we've really got a chance of getting though :/
IN: Figeuroa Dorrans/Nolan/O'hara (one of) Bullard loan
OUT: Amdy Faye Sonko James Beattie (since I think he's not got any passion for us any more)

I think Jamo raises a very good point with regard to Bullard. If/when Hull go down they will need to offload his wage committment. Very few will want to take that on given his injury problems but a loan deal would be ideal so that we weren't committed to silly money if he gets injured again. There's no doubt that the guy can still pull the strings better than anyone we have and he'd be a great signing on loan IMO.

What happened to that Roberto Canella bloke that Davie Views was mentioning a lot last summer?
Sorensen Onuoha-Huth-Shawcross-Canella Pennant-O'Hara-Whitehead-Etherington Kenny Jones-Fuller
If we can't get Kenny, full steam ahead on the Z-man.
Definite Outs Griff Dicko Davies Sonko Soares Tonge Beattie Am. Faye Diao (although he'll probably be retained in some capacity for non-football reasons)
Possible Outs, depending on incomings Lawrence Tuncay Kitson Pugh

Possible other additions to create 25-man squad
Another CM (maybe Scharner, although he alleged that 4 teams were after him today and we weren't amongst them) A young Fuller-type (no idea who, although Altidore has got potential if we could pick him up cheap) Another CB as TP collects them (that Mouyokolo from Hull?) Another wide player with pace to cover for Pennant/Ethers so we don't have to go to Delap/Whitehead if they're absent (Martin Petrov has been linked to us in the past 2 windows and looks like being on a Bosman? And Burke at Cardiff, the bloke from Rangers, has looked electric at times)

Onuoha-is that just a random name being thrown about or is there any substancial (in terms of the Oatcake ) to it? Just a random Championship Manager-style bit of nonsense, Bayern, based on Man City probably going all next level and lashing another £200m out in the summer, the competition they already have in his positions (they've just agreed to pay £11m for some German who's going to add to Zabaleta, Richards and all their CBs), and the fact he's such a TP player. FM, I'd love to see it but I just can't see us getting KJ or Z-man. I can't either, WD. But I can't think of anyone else if we don't get either of those 2. Maybe Coates and Pulis would really be prepared to push the boat out for KJ. I'm less sure about Zigic though, as I think he'd already be here if Pulis REALLY wanted him. www.tribalfootball.com/zigic-agent-reveals-planned-valencia-departure-777611The agent of Nikola Zigic has confirmed the centre-forward will leave Valencia in the summer. Milan Calasan revealed to fichajes.com that the beanpole striker is attracting interest from across Europe.
"He will leave Valencia. He will play for a club that can provide more room for him. From this point of view we have reached an agreement with the club. His future, however, is yet to be decided. We are in contact with English clubs, Spanish and Italian, but there is still nothing concrete." english.blic.rs/Sports/6302/Curcic-Krasic-Jovanovic-Zigic-on-par-with-Ronaldo-Drogba“Zigic is the king of air play, he is the finest there is in Europe. He possesses the sense of space and movement without the ball and can assist his teammates with headers and set up goal-scoring opportunities. The Valencia boss is wrong not to be playing Zigic more and utilizing his qualities, unlike Serbia coach Radomir Antic.” ;D
