Is it just me who is much happier when he is on the pitch?
He can cross the ball very well from a dead ball and is always capable of a goal.
He's had some stick this season re attitude but when his name is on that teamsheet it generally cheers me up, especially if Ethers is on the left.

I would say he has been out of form against the pretty high standards he originally set. In the promotion season he was joint highest scorer and last year he pulled off some great performances at the end of the year.
Can anyone in our squad currently do a better job than Liam at right wing?

agree with both calgary and georgie, im much happier when he plays as it brings natural balance, lawrence plays better with a run of games under his belt, this season he aint had that, hopefully a good rest, and good pre season he will come back a great asset for us, on his day hes top drawer, but he just need to keep playing

We desperatly need someone of quality in on the right for next season as it doesn't look like Liam's first choice for TP anymore. I think Pennant would be a great option. I think Liam would be great backup however I'm not sure he'd be happy with that

I put him well and truly in the overrated tosser bracket. I'm sure Tone can find something of the Matty mould that he can bring in.

Calgary, I'd say that Pennant is pretty much exactly the same player as Matty, but right footed.
He's had problems off the field, but quite a few of our players have. Definitely one for the dog's home. I'd love to see him wearing the red and white.

Pennant probably is (or hopefully has been) a tosser - but I don't think he is over rated. He's a good player who has let his off the field problems get in the way of producing his best on the field in the past. If TP can turn around his attitude he'd be a great signing for us.

Certainl brings a balance to the team when LL and Ethers are both playing.

I don't rate him, he's scored one goal in 12 months and seems incapable of beating a man. I recognise that he performed well in our promotion year but so did Cressie, we have moved on and it's time for him to do the same.
There is no room for sentiment in the unforgiving world of the Premiership.

I think he has looked way below the standard we need this season. I rated him in seasons gone, but i think we would be a massively more attacking team if we could bring in Pennant on the right. He is pretty much exactly the same player as Etherington.
Oh for two wingers in a side like ours, would take so much pressure off the defence and two CM's.

I think Lenny has done a great job for stoke over the years, this season his form and time on the pitch has been disappointing. His strength is his work ethic and a good crosser of the ball from open or set play. His weakness is his lack of pace so if we could get in an improvement on this we should. Think lenny still has lots to offer us but probably if we are looking to improve he will mainly be a squad player although I'm not sure he will accept this role or not. although I'm not convinced TP will play with 2 out and out wingers so the deeper role of right midfield is still an option for Lenny who I think is a better choice than whitehead or rory.

i personally like Lawrence. for whatever reason, he has not been given a fair shake this season, he would play 1 or 2 games but never get to the point of picking up consistency with the team, then sat on the bench for 4-5 games. he still has the skills as a winger and considering our options are Delap or Whitehead in his spot, how in the hell has he not played more games this season. our best Midfield imo, is Whitehead and Delap in the middle and Etherington and Lawrence on the wings
