We're punching well above our weight, lets be honest, unfortunately the next step in our progression will involve signing more prima donnas like Tuncay. I'm actually Tuncay's biggest fan,but you can't diss the red and white stripes like he did today,I don't care if it's tradition to walk off where he's from. The problem Pulis faces if we're to progress is managing the likes of Tuncay instead of your 100%er's like Delap,Higgy etc. I'm self employed but I can imagine how surreal it must be managing people who earn 2/3 times more than you,so unless the bottom falls out of football/sky we're heading for a team of mercenaries who couldn't care less. Pulis' reluctance to enter the foreign market where the more technically gifted players are,is perhaps understandable.

The trouble is that Pulis struggles to manage talented players. Give him a team of hoofers and 150%ers like Rory and Higgy and he's great. It will be a great challenge for him to move us to the next level. The 4-4-1-1 will not push us any further. We need him to play both wingers all the time and 2 strikers who can score. He's a brilliant defensive coach and he builds teams that work tirelessly, doggedly and are solid units. Now he needs to evolve from his ideals and embrace talent, skill and passing play.
I think he is more than capable of acheiving it, but the constant selection of Mama and the constant "benching" of Tuncay will deter better players. The question is: will he be able to change and move on?

Jesus! We lost *ONE GAME*. Ok, we shouldn't have lost it. The likes of Chelsea, Man Utd and others lose matches they shouldn't have. Should Chelsea have lost at Spurs today?
Our season does not suddenly become a disaster because of one slip up. We remain an extremely successful team.
And as for punching above our weight - the table does not lie. We are where are on merit. Sure, we're not a "big club" and we must *never* get complacent, but on the other hand neither must we fail to recognise our own magnificent achievements.

Did you read my post or just the title? It's not about Pulis or how well we're doing but about the problem of international players and their egos.

We'll probably lose at least 2 of the 4 last matches, but on a good day we could win at home against Everton or away against Fulham. Anyway I don't think we can expect to win any of these matches, in fact I wouldn't be too disappointed if we only got 2 of that possible 12 points. This season has been a success no matter how you look upon it! ;D

I accept that Pulis isn't keen on foreign players. But he does a good job with the players he's good at managing. Frankly I'm glad he doesn't favour buying dubiously-skilled primaddonas with inflated egos. They are good for instant, short term success. In the long term, we will get more success doing what we're doing.

That is how Man U, Chelsea and ARse play is it - NO - 4,5,1 is now the modern Prem style
