I often think of him as the second weakest referee in the league, after Mike Dean. However, I'd be much more concerned if we were playing a top six-ish side...

Deep joy However, there's probably only one ref I wouldn't say that about and we will never get him

ah sorry, my fault i misread it. I Just remember Walton doing the league game as he was dreadfully inconsistent and should have booked a number of Arsenal players for nasty tackles and we got bookings left right and centre.

Since we have been in the premier league Martin Atkinson has been the best referee we have had when you look at all the games.
Lets the game flow and is not one to rush in and give yellow cards out for nothing tackles, like so many refs do against us.
Remember him mainly from Tottenham at home last season, he had a good game then and has always stood out as being fair.
Far better than Dean, Walton or Wylie!

tony the Tottenham home game was reffed by Lee Mason last season but i agree he's not been too bad apart for imo the Birmingham home game.

Sorry they all just merge into one great big turd shaped referee (Phil Dowd excepted) Agree about Foy yesterday apart from bottling the 1st minute penno.

Not seen it again because MOTD2 failed to show it last night in their 2 minute highlight package although they did well to get that long imo.

I'd have been warm though. I froze my tits off in my little summer number!! It looked a nailed on penno to me. Right infront of us (JL1)
