Any news on any ground improvements, noticed things going on next to the car park opp ticket office and bits going on outside around the back of the ground across from the harvester, also there was talk of filling in the scoreboard corner if we sell out all home games this season...

The West carpark (by the main stand) is being extended both next to the railway and at the ticket office end where the grassy knoll has been bulldozed flat.
There is to be an underpass built this summmer between the Stadium and the Harvester.
No news on stadium expansion yet.

Sod the underpass. An airport-style travelator running up penguin-alley to The Harvester would be a great addition. I was hoping this is why they had flattened all the trees, to make way for the handrail.

The training ground upgrade is a big project.

Are they going to funnel everyone out of this new big car park through a 1 car sized slot adjoining the south car park? That'd be a giggle.

We could do with another bridge going over the river/railway area. That one bridge is chocka-block at full time.

Overheard someone mentioning that we were looking to fill in the corner between the West Stand and Boothen End and include a casino in it.

I'll settle for nothing less than gold-plated lifts like at Hitler's Eagle's Nest, punji-stake booby-traps under the pitch ready for the Arsenal match and a sedan chair service from the South Car Park to the Seddon Stand.

It would make more sense to move the dressing rooms and tunnel to the John Smith's/Boothen corner, put seats in there and put the hotel/casio where the Shop and changing rooms and offices are now. We could then build a new office block and shop detached from the stadium.
Advantages: # New, bigger, shop and offices which do not take up stadium space.
# Hotel/Casino (a prestige building) is at the corner which people first see when they arrive at the stadium by car
# New (better) changing rooms in the new John Smiths/Boothen corner
# Tunnel would come out between stands occupied by home fans.
Disadvantages - none that I can think of - other than cost of course! ;D

mickstupp, I have often wondered aloud why they choose to keep secret, improvements of which the club should be proud. Before some of you get too excited, much of the new parking space is apparently intended to replace that being lost on the south car park. But at least it will be owned by us and thus, hopefully, short of potholes and marked out. I'm disappointed that you're such a selfish lot, no-one having suggested a ski-lift from the Brit to Stoke station.

Just thinking ahead as I haven't got my usual disabled CP pass for my dad yet - it may be worth me trying to get one on the West instead. ???

If we were going to do any sort of extension work, sod filling in the corner. That would just give us a tedious generic Riverside Stadium. Let's just stick an extra 2000 seats in the Boothen End - not tiered, just one steep bank.

I'm not sure what is happening to the disabled spaces on the South Car Park or whether any will be included on the West Car Park. Sorry, I can't help.
