Why not hinge on sentimentality for a time? Three shock results in the quarter finals. A non Premier club in the final. Can't we just enjoy the mad romance for a while?

On the original thread title - every year for at least 5 seasons people have said 'the league is weak this season, but next year when X come down, Y spend their new fortune and Z come up, it will be really tough'. Every year this has been proved wrong.
I think the Championship is competitive and even, and a lot more interesting as a result (except for the last 3 games). The Premier League is at a much higher standard in the top half, but extremely predictable, and of a fairly comparable standard to the Championship down the bottom.
The widening gap between big four (plus newly rich hangers on like Man City and Villa) and the rest is of more concern than that between Prem and the rest - what can anyone like us hope for? 5th in the premier league would be the highest we could ever, ever, ever, possibly finish. Soon that is likely to be 11th. Sad isn't it?
