Great game of nogger, especially the 2nd half. A point of piece is very fair (to both teams). Thought we were outstanding once Ricci was on, it is simply amazing what a difference he makes. Ruth could have won it for us right at the death, and there was some great defending by the Villa center-backs (we definately got the wrong Collins!) Well happy with a point. One more little step on the road to safety. If we play that well against Spoz (last 20 minutes here) then I can see us getting three points from that one. Great effort from the players and crowd. I'm well happy with that display (nite all) ah

Happy with the point and we looked like we could have won it. Irritating that on Sky Sports score centre it shows us as having NO shots on goal! WTF?? I can think of 4 straight off the top of my head!

im just amazed at what Fuller always does when he comes on !! the anemic attack that was Tuncay and Sidibe was put to shame by Kitson and Fuller

I'd say Danny Higgy pipped Fuller for us because he had the full 90 mins and was involved at both ends.

Taught Rory was excellent again and would love to see Ryan in for Collins and Kits and Ric starting against Spurs next week

Tend to agree with Kitson & Ric to start. I don't buy the 'Tuncay is shit' bs - the bloke isn't built, nor is it his style - to chase after Mama's mis-headers n such. I think Mama can do a job against certain teams but our style of play is evolving and we look better when we play a bit more football (with passion and aggression) and a little less blind kicks up-field - which is what was happening first half,

The whole style of play changes when Sidibe goes off. Fuller actually wins a lot of headers and holds the ball up so well that I could see Tuncay having a field day playing off him.
Not sure why TP doesn't see it though?

I don't think Fuller is as effective over the full 90 than he is coming off the bench. He's clever and physical just when the CF's are tiring. As for Sidibe surely every side in the division must be rubbing their hands when he is playing, I think he's just keeping fit cos he sure as hell can't play!

I think today proved that Tuncay shouldn't be starting. Not yet anyway. And after walking down the tunnel twice, I couldn't give a flying fuck about the lad atm. Mama will have a shit first touch or pass the ball to no one, he will get slated. Tuncay does it, and it's an "unlucky". I accept he's had some good moments for us, but Fuller's 10 times the player up front, and Lawrence gives us the same going forward in the wide positions, but more in terms of keeping shape, discipline and level of commitment.
Dont agree with this Fuller is better off the bench business, WE SHOWED FUCK ALL UP FRONT UNTIL HE CAME ON!
All the players were outstanding bar the front two however, and the sub from Pulis was spot on.
I personally also wouldn't like Fuller trying to flick on balls, hold it up etc for Tuncay, it's a total waste of our best player and i'm sure Pulis sees it that way too.

Fuller and Tuncay worked well against Wigan.
Surely against bottom half teams who come to the brit, you should take the game to them and trust those two upfront.

That's right, he's an attacking midfielder, one who thrived at Boro when he was more or less given a free role behind the forwards. I'm not sure there's room for one of them in this Stoke side, just yet.
He'd be no more effective than Lawrence on the right, it's simply because he's "Tuncay" that people are desperate to find a position for him.

I thought Stoke looked much more dangerous with Fuller than Tuncay, didn't really understand the booing when he went off. I know he's a decent player, but if he's having an off day, surely it doesn't hurt to take him off. A point's not a bad outcome for us, please beat Spurszzz for us!

Sidibe and Heskey as bad as each other is no justification for poor performance. You have hit the nail on the head there scotpotter, its time to move on and start with the quality footballers that we have - Tuncay and Kitson before they go elsewhere. How are we going to attract quality players when we don't play the ones we already have AND our defence and midfield deserve nothing less. Come on Tone - see sense.
