I can't believe: a) that people seriously want to remove one of our best players from the team b) that people seriously think Cresswell is better than Nugent Astonishing!

Although Pulis did drop Shawcross and Simmo I think Ricardo is a totally different situation. Fuller is probably one of the only players in our squad who can change the game in a second and create something out of nothing.
I have to admit that Rics been eversoslightlycrap the last few games and can't seem to score one on one to save his life, but if we do drop him, who comes in? Parkin? Big Vincent 'one goal a season' Pericard? If anything the fact that Fuller is playing poorly and we havn't got a suitable replacement says something about the strength in depth of our squad .... or distinct lack of it.

parkin instead of fuller ;D
Cresswell isn't useless, 10 goals from left midfield, imagine how many he would get upfront!

Cresswell isn't useless, but I'd take Nugent up front over him any day. The only worry with him is lack of matches.
Nothing at all against Cresswell, he's been a real trooper for us and does deserve a go up front if no-one else comes in.

I've not been many games this season but i agree, if he can drop the keeper and a central defender because we're shipping goals left right and centre - why not the front two???
Fuller's getting on my tits...he never, ever passes, and just seems to run into trouble all the time...I dont rate Sidibe at the min either, but at least he puts abit more effort into things...
Desperate for a striker and a quick winger...but everyone knows that already...im sure Pulis is on the case..we'll see.

By reading the replys the jurys certainly out....
Yes ,It was a brave 'post' yet my own personal opinion is that a fresh approach is needed... We have become very predictable of late and by starting with Cressser/Parkin or Gally up front we could just mix it up a bit...
Fuller has scored twice this calender year...
Don't write the 'Beast' off yet.....it was the same time last season that he came into his own...

I've been saying Fuller needs to be benched since the Wolves game. His impact as a sub was much greater than the majority of his performances in the last 10 games.
Fuller is a quality player, but he is also lazy, and when he's off-form (like now) we end up carrying our best player. A 14-goal return from our supposed best-in-the-league goalscorer is poor IMO, I don't see how anyone can spin it differently.
No player in the side should be undroppable and that extends to Fuller. If we want to get the best out of him we need to get him motivated for every game and that starts with recognising his form recently has been patchy at best. So, provided we sign a decent striker on loan (which we must, Nugent or otherwise), Fuller should be benched and used as an impact player until he earns his place back in the side. Pulis should ditch the softly-softly approach (see Lawrence's comments in the Sun!) and really shake-up a side in terrible form, and that includes Fuller.
It's also worth remembering that sometimes to win you have to play the best team and not the best players IMO.

n01stokie
I hate it when i do go down stoke in there's always some fat b*astard sat 2 rows behind me who's never kicked a ball in his life shouting " boot it up the field" - when they're trying to play football....Then when we do just bang it up to Fuller, people still moan...
I take it you're a season ticket holder? i say that cuz obviously that gives you, and season ticket holders alone, the right to moan? - just having my opinion before you came on with " i hate fans like you" shout.

I'm loving this idea, perhaps we could play with hockey sticks and minnie mouse masks. Obviously we'd need a new strip to do this, maybe traditional viking attire. ;D ;D ;D

There are some mongy cunts supporting Stoke - it never ceases to amaze me.
Drop your best player who is also your top goalscorer? Hmmm.
Lazy? - my arse, just because he doesnt run around the pitch like a deranged dog?
Selfish? - good, the less he passes to Sidibe the better.
Whingey? Who fucking cares? Player as good as him can have an attitude the size of Canada for me...
With several obvious passengers in this team, some retards are asking for the most skilful and threatening player to be benched - pathetic.

In all honesty 14 goals at this stage of the season isn't spectacular.
You would hope for at least 20 by now by a REAL quality striker.

I have to say I agree with Mikeyb here. But I'd Start with Parkin and Sidibe - no I ain't stupid but Parkin hasn't had a chance to start a game in his preferred role as the lead striker all season. He's proven he's got goals in him and given a chance at this point I think he'd be chomping at the bit.
I am sure there will be many people making the fat jokes etc after this post however Fuller is supposed to be our main striker and he ain't scored in 6 games - sure he's played provider for some goals and thankfully our midfield are putting the ball in the back of the net. But it's supposed to be his job to score goals - hell even Sidibe has scored more recently than Fuller!
A drop to the bench might just be a kick up the arse he needs.

You're all just burying your heads in the sand if you think everything is rosy in the current Stoke line up. One goal in three games tells its own story IMO.
Our best chance EVER to get promoted, not a time to get sentimental. Fuller isn't doing the business, bench him, get a replacement in. A Nugent-type signing also gives the whole club a lift.

He makes the majority of thoses chances himself though Twitters, out of nothing.
It is frankly lunacy to suggest dropping our dangerman at this stage of the season. Utterly ridiculous. He's not as effective as he was because he's being man-marked to fuck, yet he still scares the shit out of defenders.
Our attacking threat is halved when he doesn't play. Against Hull on New Year's Day, in his absence, we were reduced to one dangerous tactic - the long throw, and sod all else. Where's the threat going to come from without him? Gallagher isn't as effective up front as he is out wide from what we've seen. Cresswell is a poacher but he's no Fuller. Parkin is in no condition to lead the attack. We all know Mama doesn't score goals.

Our best chance EVER to get promoted, not a time to get sentimental. Yet some people think that starting with Parkin and Sidibe is the answer? Good lord, why don't we go the whole hog and put Pericard on the wing. If Pulis dropped Fuller and started with any combination of the other three bluffers we've got up front, he'd be crucified. It's not an option.

Davef, Never said Parkin and Sidibe was the answer but hey Fuller ain't scored for 6 games - give Parkin the first 45 and see if he can do what we saw him do in his loan spell from Hull but playing off Sidibe. As I said if anything it might just give Ricardo a kick up the arse that he seemingly needs and make him realise he ain't guaranteed a start regardless. We've seen in the past that he can be one hell of a game changing sub to put on just after half time.

Parkin was successful in his loan spell playing off Fuller, with his pace and trickery which allowed Parkin, a predator, to feed off the scraps. Cresswell is here now and can do that better than him. I like Mama and have defended him to the hilt recently but he does need a rest and we should be looking at other options and ways of playing since our main gameplan has been thoroughly sussed.
