Don't like to winge as we're 2nd but I don't understand TP when it comes to Gally, much more effective then Cresswell on the left who just lost.

It's very simple armitage - Gally can play. He knows where the net is, he's skillful and mobile.
He's also from the Boskamp era.

That just makes it all the weirder Alan - he's from the Boskamp era, yet Pulis has brought him back...only to not play him. It's unfathomable.

God only knows.
Cresswell's perceived work rate and physicality is hardly helping to make us a watertight defensive unit, is it - home or away?
Gallagher would offer so much more. History shows he's a comparable goal threat as well as having massively more ability and creativity. Cresswell tries the same move every time, but it never comes off. He's done well for us this season, scored some vital goals, and is a willing workhorse even when played out of position, but he's no Gallagher.
Hopefully he'll take his chance in Lawrence's absence at Watford - and make himself undroppable, but I'm hoping he'll be unleashed on Tuesday as well

In the Radio Stoke post-match interview TP said he will be playing Gally whilst Lawrence is suspended :-)

Hate to disagree but i think Gally is wildly over-rated ( or else why isn't he a regular SOMEWHERE, or have multiple managers all "got it wrong" ?? ) and I have seen him contribute very liittle so far in this loan spell

rob - my understanding is that Rudge was responsible for bringing him back. I'll happily be corrected by anyone who knows better, but that's what I heard.
I was surprised because Pulis isn't known for liking any players he didn't sign.

I might be being a bit naive on this one Alan, but wouldn't the manager generally approve any new signings. I know it doesn't always work like that (such as "Triggy and Ziggy" gate) but would be surprised if the Coates regime saw players being brought in over Tony's head.

Tone's comments in his post-match interview amazed me - something along the lines of "they tell me gallagher's free kick was going in" - Er why didn't you see it yourself Tone? I personally think he won't play him over Cressy as someones already pointed out he's a Rudge signing and also he's more of a lad likely to show boat than "work aarrrrdd"

Not one of his 'cronies'. Pulis's stubbornness will cost us once again I'm afraid.

Think Sir Tone is losing the plot
Gally in .... Salif out .. was a no brainer for everyone but TP today
just hope his pigheaded stubborness doesn't cost us.....
I personally don't think he has the nous to take us over that final hurdle
Let's hope I'm wrong.

Surely it would've needed more than a nod from Pulis.
And you'd think Gallagher would have needed some assurance from the top man himself about the level of involvement that was envisaged - especially when it was said that lots of C'ship teams were in for him who surely woul've played him every week?
Maybe Pulis doesn't like what he's seeing in training, despite the glowing recommendation of Rudge?
I remember Pulis said soon after he came back, when he announced he'd like him back on loan, that he'd watched nearly every DVD of the Boskamp season, and he though Gallagher had been "absolutely smashing" - and basically argued we'd have gone down without him, so Gally's pros and cons should hardly have come as a shock to him.

I'd forgotten about Triggy and Ziggy!! I think the decision to bring in Gallagher will have been Pulis's only. Besides, TP and JR seem to have a good working relationship and appear to work together rather than in opposition. So it's unlikely Rudge is (or would be allowed to) bringing in his own players. Surely if there's anything in the Rudge link, he would have recommended Gallagher, and TP will have sanctioned it based on his avid viewing of Stoke in his sabbatical from the club?

Stubbornness has been mentioned here, and not for the first time overall regarding our glorious leader.

And last week at QPR Gally was a real threat with his footballing brain that Sidibe can only dream of.
Gally left Cressy upfront with Fuller and Misibe out because the bloke is a joke and his contribution unlike today is trying to win the odd header? Is there not someone outhere who can win a fuckin header but score GOALS say 1 in 5 instead of 1 in 33.....!!!!! Yes but Pulis said NO to Adebola which is just a shocking decision.

I really hope he's on the verge of overriding his downright anoying stubbornness gene and getting Gallagher involved from the start.

I got a photo of Gally outside the ground yesterday and asked him if he was playing today, he said he wasnt, i asked why and what the fuck is he ( TP ) playing at, Gally just shrugged his shoulders and said he obviously thinks theres someone better, i wished him all the best but he looked very pissed off about it.
