Is anyone on here a Seddon Stand premium seat ST Holder? If so, were you an ST Holder for the current (09/10) season? If so, how much are you being asked to pay to renew? On SCFCDirect I am being asked for £399, but a standard Seddon Ticket costs £379. Isn't it the case that for EXISITING ST Holders there is no "Premium Price" - So we should be paying the Standard Price? (Or am I just talking rubbish?!) ... And no, I cannot remember how much I paid for me 09/10 ST ... Ta for any help/info ah

... And no, I cannot remember how much I paid for me 09/10 ST ... I don't know the answer, but my 09/10 season ticket (Seat stand) has the price on it. So worth having a look on there? (On the ticket in the inside cover, not the book).

I do. Last season the price for these seats went up by £20. They gave people that had a seat there for season previous the seat for the same price as 08/09. New st holders in these seats had to pay the £20. This was for this season only so now renewals are up we pay the extra £20. Everyone now thinks the price has gone up (which it has) but only to bring us in line with the current prices. 08/09 = £279. 09/10 = £299 for premium seats (stayed £279 for existing st holders) 10/11 = £299.
On a side note this is what will happen to the free platinum+ members. They will have to pay from next season like everyone else.

I'm a Seddon Premium ST Holder and I was wondering whether the offer of only paying Premium for the first season was on offer aswell. I bloody hope it is because I'm not happy to say the least at having to buy the Tony Scholes money-making scheme that is Platinum membership! I'm going renew mine by phone on Monday as I don't trust the online website in the slightest.

My understanding was that existing ST Holders never paid the premium price. However, often my understanding isn't correct. SO: Luke - Can you post up on Monday night how much you paid at the Ticket Office (I'll bump this post to remind you). I too wonder with SCFCDirect is just forgetting to take account of the "discount" Cheers (And if there is an "increase", then I will be PMing Momo to ascertain the correct terminology for addressing Scholsey, when posting on here!!!) ah

To be fair, the online website works very well (it must have been put together by an external company...). Having said that my bank account is showing that I have paid West Ham £1257 and not Stoke ;D

Last season saw the introduction of "Premium Seating", a concept that a lot of Premier League clubs already have in place (and other lower league teams too!)
Anyone who was in the premium seats already and renewed, Stoke waived the £20 additional charge
The waiver was for the first season only, so anyone renewing this season is asked to pay the additional charge and will do so from hereon in

Gaz, it doesn't affect me as I am in the Boothen but could you and the club learn from this that proper communication at the time the first announcement is made would have saved a lot of bad feeling.
I have always thought it was a bit odd that the people on the halfway line in the Seddon and Johns Smiths paid the same as those level with the six yard boxes. So I can quite understand the concept of Premium seats. The sensible way to have introduced it would have been to explained FROM THE OUTSET that the concession for those who already had those seats would apply only for the first season. The would have given fans who wished to move to cheaper seats a better choice of seats to move to - now they are faced with 20,000 ST holders and a resulting lowering of choice in the cheaper seats. Bad PR - like so much at our club.

It's 20 quid ffs , you pay for a better view, if you don't want to pay the extra, sit somewhere else.

So NO price freeze on ST for us in Premium seats, I had a lengthy discussion with the ticket office about this and they say well tough pay up or move to a non premium seat, they are looking after there long term supporters yet again NOT, this is a stealth payment just like the installment plans.
PRICE FREEZE MY ARSE

do all season ticket holders have to pay this £15 administration fee, if they do that will be a nice little earner won't it around £300,000 am i right, or is it another scholes method of fllecing the fans?

I sit in the 'premium' seats in the West Stand. Renewed online and only got charged the 'old' price so got the £20 quid discount..... my mum and dad are OAPs and they did not get a discount .... very strange.
I also agree comments from Tony Scholes about 'season ticket prices frozen' is misleading and annoying. Also we are being penalised for sitting in the same seats for 11 years - people say 'move seats if you do not want to pay the premium' but it would need a block of 10 seats together for us all to move and not too sure where we would end up !!

PRICE FREEZE MY ARSEBut the prices are frozen! They gave us a £20 discount last season. People in premium seats last year paid £399 if they had just moved into them. That is what we are paying this year as we don't have the discount. That is a price freeze.

You can argue the toss over the Premium/Price Freeze set up from both angles and whether other clubs do this is neither here nor there. The point is, from any angle it's a case of changing things because of economics. Like I said, my seat certainly wasn't "Premium" in 1997-2008 when the club was grateful for my (and many others') money.
It would be a nice gesture if long-term ST holders could be rewarded in some way - like waving the "Premium" hike for as long as a person has had a ST in that section.
Football and Marketing - a right can of worms.

I sit in block 31 of the Seddon and renewed my ticket at the ticket office for me and my son on Wednesday.
We had to pay the £20 meaning we paid £399 each.
This means we pay £1-05 extra per game to have the best view in the house, whilst still having the atmosphere, because sitting in the JSL was like a library when I used to sit there.
You can not even get a beer or a pie for that, chips and peas at the Brit is £2-70, it is true that "You get what you pay for" and for that seat I think £1-05 is a bargain. I am, however aware that if you are on a tight budget the £20 can be the last straw and may mean an unwanted move for some supporters.
The total price per game is £21-00 for a seat with a face value of between £30 and £40 depending who we are playing. To me it is a no brainer.

It's not so much the 20 quid that pisses me off, it's the way Stoke change the rules of the pricing and don't bother telling us fans they have and just let us find out when we renew. There's nothing on the official website suggesting we wouldn't have got the Premium seats for Standard pricing like last season when renewing, so we'd have no reason not to believe that is was the case again. It's still good value, and I'll be renewing my Premium seat again, but in the time of a recession 20 quid extra on a cost is alot, it is to me anyway even if it isn't to you.

It's both the money and the principle for alot of people. £20 is petrol money for 2-3 games.

Thanks for the info/advice all - Good to know that at least someone knows what is going on! I'll be forking out me hard earned to "West Ham" shortly. (No arguments that £399 is still a good deal, but as said above, it's a bit annoying that the "discount" has disappeared this year. As also said above, I guess there's about 20,000 reasons why this is the case) Oh, and ... Grrrrrr ... Where's Momo?! ah
