CHELSEA Vs STOKE CITY
FA CUP QUARTER-FINAL STAMFORD BRIDGE SUNDAY 7th MARCH - 4pm KICK-OFFBringing back memories of this particular day when we defeated them in The League Cup, what a chance we have of reaching Wembley for the semi-final! I'd take a draw, my Gawd i'd take a draw and get them back here, but a sneaky win, which we were so close to last season at the bridge, and it'd be the mental to end all mentals! Goooooaaaaaarrrrrrrrn Stoke!

About time that WE snatched a win at Chelsea at the last minute methinks. With Hilarious in goal and Terry all over the shop at the moment - Huth to score against his old team.
Goooarrrn Stoke!!!!!!

i've gotta feeling about this one.
just a little feeling.
i don't if it's just me thinking we're so close...
it's a big ask but i feel we could do this.
we'll be rested for the most part and i could see us giving it a really good go.
GOARN STOKE!

I think we can get a draw, I can't see us winning this one though. Hopefully the lads will prove me wrong.

Its a mammoth task to win at Chelsea, they have lost like 3 games at Home in all competitions in 6 years? Their home record speeks for itself. I'm praying we can snatch a draw and take them back to the Brit, a win would be much nicer, can't see it myself Prove me wrong Stoke!!!

Lets go and have a right good go at them and see what happens.
I have no idea how we should approach the game to be honest, I can see the sense in having a go at them and putting a positive team out and I can also see that a defensive line-up could give us a chance to get them back to the Brit.
I think TP will go cautiously (and who am I to argue?) but I wouldn't mind us attacking and trying to get our noses in front.
It's difficult to suggest a team with quite a few questions to answer. If Matty is back who will play wide right as I can't see TP wanting Tuncay, Matty, Ric and Mama in the team?
I suppose a compromise could be
Tommy Wilko Huth Abdy Higgy (please God) Deano Rory Whelan Matty (if fit) Mama Ric
After his showing at RB against Citeh, I'd tend to put Deano wide right as although we'll miss him in the middle, he'll give us more there than Rory would who could then do a more than capable job in the centre.
Kitson can't be a million miles off a start to be fair either and Tuncay will be kicking his heels if he doesn't start again.
Looking forward to a good day out, a bloody good sing-song and hopefully a memorable Stoke performance.
Gooooaaaarrrrrnnnnn Stoke!!!!!

An interesting thought is when would a replay take place? Chelsea are due to play Inter on 16th March, so that week would be out, which leaves the 23/24 March, displacing their game at Portsmouth, before the Champions League quarters the following week (if they progress). With those matches ahead, and what's been going down at the Brit of late, you can bet a few quid on a result at the Bridge on Sunday, and thus a very open game. A repeat of last week's 4-2 would be nice ...

goarrrrn stoke i can see us winning this one - as there defence is rubbish as late, if matty fit i would have him on the bench- cant take the risk! my team woould be: tommy wilko huth abdy higgy tuncay-wide right cuttin inside causing chelsea all problems deano whelan delap mama ric
hopefully that can beat chelsea, i would take a draw- bring em down here ;D

A really tough match, and arguably the biggest Stoke match since May 4th 2008.
Playing for a draw has to be the order of the day, a draw would be a fantastic result and would give us a great chance in a replay.
3-1 Chelsea, with 2 goals from Chelsea in the final 10 mins, sends Stoke crashing out.

My heart says Chelsea Nil. My head says Stoke City Nil. I'd settle for them both being right and a replay at the Brit

A boring 0-0 please, then back to the Brit and us to beat them in the dying seconds of injury time. If TP adjust our formation and used 5 or 6 men in centre a nil all is very much likely , using a 451 or 361 formation will keep ball traffic in the centre , most of chelsae's attack will come through the centre .

Chelsea are not at their best ,in defence, at the moment so maybe plenty of rory throwins and sorenson playing at his best or drogba scoring an og we may just win. that is hoping everyone else at stoke is match fit. since no ryan. Then there my prayer at the vatican a month ago!!! I sense it our year to get to wembley. come on lads we are stoke

Dennis Smith says we have to "expose" Chelsea's creaking defence ! i would have to imagine that starting the likes of Diao and Sidibe, (especially Sidibe) the only thing that will expose is our continuing inability to score !

Never thought I'd say this but my biggest worrry is our defence. Ryan out, Higgy not fit, Abdy off the pace... and we're up against 2 of the best strikers in the world.
If Higgy is fit I'd play him in central defence and bring Whitehead back to full back to shore up our back line because he was immense there against Craig Bellend.
Sorenson Whitehead Huth Higgy Wilkinson Tuncay Delap Whelan Etherington/Lawrence Sidibe Fuller
I'd prefer Kitson with Fuller but it won't happen
