I am.
Ten years ago a Stoke player getting an international call up would invariably have a surname ending in "SSON". Now we have a likely England international on our books and could have as many as four players going to the world cup.

Yes I am. I've been a bit off the England team in recent years because, well, look at the current Stoke team and how it evokes a great sense of pride in you - the England team have just epitomised the exact opposite of that, thanks to half-arsed, bottling cheats like Terry, Gerrard and Cole. Seeing them at your ground, cheating in the flesh makes it even worse.
For those reasons, I wouldn't usually give a toss about England playing Egypt in a stadium that will have plenty of empty seats because some people who brought those Premier seats behind the dugout couldn't be bothered turning up. Tonight, however, we've got a Stoke player on the bench for England for the first time in 20 years and I couldn't be happier.

I'm pumped. I got an offer of a ticket on Monday night too which I gladly accepted. Going to get a new england shirt with shawcross on the back just for the occasion. Whisper it quietly but my inertia relative to England's football team may evolve into real interest now Ryan is part of the England set up

I havent looked forward to an England game like this for a bloody long time.
Ryan's big moment, Fabio's management, my acceptance of Rooney as a person and player have all played a part.
Its a good to have the feeling back.

Went on holiday to Egypt this year at the time Egypt were playing their final, must win, qualifier. Can't tell you how much passion the locals generated and when they realised that I was English (and not German ) and that I was on their side, it was free drinks until I left the bar. Nice folk those Egyptians! So yes I am excited, just as they were and because I know that they'll be excited too.

Regardless whether the Shawcross factor happens or not, I'm still looking forward to it.
100 days until the first World Cup match for England, and the last chance for players to stake a claim. It doesn't get any more exciting than this.
The build up to a tournament is always the best bit.

I don't like them most of the time, but i'm looking forward to tonights game. I really hope he plays some part. The last friendly i was really looking forward to was when we won in Germany last year or the year before. And then the 3-2 win against Argentina in Switzerland a few years back.

Being a bit of an internationalist (tree hugging- liberal- left wing- commie- twat, as some on here like to call us), all the fake patriotism that pours out every two years gets on my tits, and now we are in the Prem, I can't bring myself to chant 'Rooooney' with all the gloryhunters in the pub anymore. Having said that, I cannot wait for tonight, pizza, few beers and watching one of our own pull on those 3 lions. Get in. Gooooarn Ryan. P.S. Ryan - don't expect every throw in in the final third to land rayte on your bonce from 40 yardrs, don't want you to look a tool stood on the back post every time we get a throw in ;D

England will get a throw in just inside their half and Ryan will be standing on his own in front of their goalie, wondering why has it hasn't been thrown it too him. ??? ;D
