Serpico - I don't think anyone hates him per se, more all of the hysterical bollocks that accompanied his return, which, given his record, was completely unwarranted. Also, Newcastle have got worse since he arrived. Fat Sam won the odd game. Keegan hasn't won a league game since his return. Come on though, all supporters have a favorite manager, and they were very exciting times under Keegan back in the 90's, they were bound to get a bit hysterical about his return, it would be similar if Lou returned to stoke. Nobody likes a hysterical geordie but I hope he turns it around up there.

The hysteria and saturation coverage was based on nothing though. There was nothing whatsoever to suggest that he'd repeat what he achieved 15 years ago.
If Lou returned I'd be very cautious about how long he'd been out of the game.

I know alot of Newcastle fans in Stoke with absolutely no connection to the club, alot of gloryhunters still hang on to the old Keegan days around here and I think relegation to the invisible depths of the Championship would be quite amusing.

If it wasnt for the points they won under big Sam they would be well and truly fucked, i for one hope they get relegated. And all this bollox about them being a massive club, i can remember them in the old 2nd division with gates much lower than ours were at the start of this season.

Approaching Redknapp was lack of ambition. Appointing Keegan was a lack of imagination or forethought. Keegan was the messiah and they didn't need a messiah. They do need someone to lay solid foundations and working to a plan to develop a base for long term prosperity.
When Sam was sacked I said they needed to appoint Hitzveld and give him time to look throughout the club and see what's required and set about acquiring it. Then the plans merge and a strong collective is born. And I still think thats what they should have done.
