for ensuring hundreds of Stokies need to take time off work and may not even get a ticket for Chelsea.
Huge queues at the ground from silly o'clock and ALL because we made the senseless decision to take only 3k.
Biggest cup game in almost 4 decades and we act all small-time about returned tickets. It matters not what we have taken away in other games. I mean, if we win, are we just going to get 3k for Wembley.
If this sells out today, as it looks like doing, then the club or whovere is responsible has let us down badly. In a way, I hope we don't sell out as I would hate to see Stokies suffering.
And no, I ain't got a ticket yet - mate still in the queue - as he has been for 4 hours now!

Added to the disappointment of hundreds if not thousands of Stoke fans is the fact that it is a decision which could directly influence matters on the pitch. It's genuine first class idiocy.

I am still unsure of what he was trying to say on Friday, was it that Chelsea only offered us 3,000 tickets or they offered us 3,000 that they had to pay up front? Well if it was a worry about paying up front had they already not exceeded monetary expectations in the cup this season?
Strange one but I think he may have fucked this one up

As I understand it with Chelsea you either have to go for 3000 or 6000. Stoke went for 3000 because they didnt want to be left with unsold tickets.
BUT it's a cup game - so we'd get 40% of the entire gate anyway - so wouldn't that cushion the loss a bit even if we didn't sell out.
Given the importance of the crowd (especially for away games) it really is a poor decision.

Strange one but I think he may have fucked this one up We decided to take a lower allocation because we'd need to cover the cost of unsold tickets, I'm certain thats what he was saying - decision made because it was on a Sunday, on TV. What he forgot to add was that it was the first FA Cup Quarter Final for nearly 40 years.

Lets not forget that it was 3000 if was us or Man shitty who played. Maybe there were other factors than just Scholes. Just a thought.

The one thing i dont agree with is ticket office staff saving tickets for friends and family, people who havent been many matches get tickets because they know someone in the ticket office

True. It is a bit shit then considering the support we had at home last week. They must have seen that the fans were getting into the whole cup thing.

I know Jen but they could see how ticket sales were going. I am sure most people never waited until the wednesday to buy their tickets.

I think you're all being a tad harsh on Scholes.
I think the novelty of all of these quarter finals is wearing off...

As an exile I've missed out and am pissed off, I can't imagine how a season ticket holder spending 3 hours in a queue must feel.
A really bad misjudgment by Stoke, and an obvious one as well.

Why didn't you ring up mate? Thats what I did and I only live half hour away. I rang up three times before I went out, it said that all lines were busy and the queues were full up. Kept ringing at the ground as well on my mobile and got into a queue once, but then I ran out of fucking credit. "Pay as you go", it's wank.
