When we play Chelsea this Sunday remember '72.
We were given little chance of beating the boys from the King's Road but rose to the occasion. I guess the media will have a similar stance this week. The anniversary of 1972 is this Thursday, 38 years since our League Cup victory.
GOAAARRRNN STOKE!!
We'll Be With You Every Step Along The Way!
Prove the media wrong AGAIN

Absolutely.
It's down to the lucky 3000 to make twice as much noise for all of us - to make up for the unfortunately low allocation.
GOOOOOAAARN STOKE!

One thing I remember from 1972, I hope I am right about this. I don't think Chelsea could sell all their tickets for a final in London. I think we sold the extra ones. This was before the days of the glory hunter.

You're right. foxfield - they didn't sell all their tickets. I got two one - one cos I was a season ticket holder and one cos I queued all night. Gave it to me mate Johnny Kronisberg and we hitched down the M6 . . . seeing George Eastham slot in that winner was the best day of me Stokie life!

How can we ever forget. The greatest day along with promotion to the Premiership. Would be fantastic if this new generation of Stokies could have such a day as we had back in '72. Many golden moments that day, but seeing Greenhoff and Waddo hugging on the touchline at the final whistle is right up there as one of my best ever memories supporting Stoke.

;D The 4th of March 1972 was the first weekend of March. Guess who we are playing on the first weekend of March in 2010? My bet is 2-1 to Stoke. Ethers (wing) to score first, Drogba (star forward) to equalize and then Delap (old man of the team) to net the winner! How great would that be?
