Watching the video, Bendtner pushes Sharcross as he goes in for the challenge. This must have had affected where Sharcross's challenge landed.
IMHO some of the blame - for this accident - must lay at Bendtner's door.

It wasn't Bendners fault but he certainly played a part, in fouling Shawcross he delayed the tackle by a fraction.

I thought he pulled at Shawcross. Either way it MIGHT have affected where Shawcross was when he put in the tackle. But to blame Bendtner is about as sensible as saying Shawcross intended to injure Ramsey.
Both incidents were the sort of things that happen week in week out in every game in every stadium in the country. The fact that on this occasion a tragedy resulted for Aaron Ramsey is not a reason to go on a witch hunt. I think Ryan's red card was harsh just as I think blaming Bendtner would be harsh.
At the end of the day Ramsey's career is in the balance - we must all hope he recovers and move on. In the great scheme of things a red card for Ryan isn't that important. I hope he gets his head right in time to enjoy his England call up.

Ryan actually did well to pull back to the extent he did, although the contact still brought about such an horrific injury.
I think the point is there is so much about the incident that mitigates Ryan that it collectively makes the whole situation almost a freak accident.
50/50 tackle chasing a loose ball Bendtners push may have slowed ryan slightly making his challenge mistimed Ramsey seems to have already gone over awkwardly on the ankle with his body weight over it prior to the contact which needed the minimal of touches to cause a nasty injury, as it did
Sad situation all round. I hope Ryan can be strong enough to view the footage at some point and bury the demons in his head about how exclusively responsible he actually is

not blaming Bendntner, but I said at the time that the referee missed the original foul on Shawcross. Like most red cards in football, they come as a result of the ref not blowing up for the first infringement and this results in a bad tackle.
It didn't yesterday, it resulted in a complete accident.
Should have been a foul to Stoke just before the tackle..
