Watched it again on Sky+, it may have had a very nasty result, but it wasn't a bad challenge.

It was a borderline sending off after watching it again without the horific injury. Not malicious just over selous.

If Ryan hadn't gone into the challenge we would have said he 'shit out'. He clearly went for the ball and Ramsey got there first. Unfortunate about Ramseys injury but no malicious and wouldn't have been a yellow if there was no leg break.

Spot on.
Remember the Delap leg break against Sunderland (at the start of his Stoke career). Delap's leg was at a horrible angle but the Stoke players didn't react. The challenge on Delap that evening was bad but no worse than Ryan's. The difference: no reaction from the Stoke players.
Much that I feel for Ramsey, these things happen in football. It doesn't automatically mean that it was a bad challenge.
