Is this manager capable of taking us to Europe?
You cannot knock what he has done to now, even though it has taken him a long time to win me round. Premier League stability is becoming a realism under Pulis.
Just wondered what people thought about him taking us further. Hodgson seems to be showing the way with Fulham. Apart from what he says about us I quite like Woy. He's an intelligent man.

I don't see why not. TP has improved our position every year bar one, in the seven seasons he has been at the club. And in the one season when we didn't improve, we only dropped one place. I'd say the chances of a Europa League place in the next two or three years are good. I'm not sure if any manager could get us to the Champions League without the silly money available to the managers of the traditional "top four" clubs plus Man City and Spurs.

I see no reason why not in time although I've got a feeling next season is going to be tough one.

I see no reason why not in time although I've got a feeling next season is going to be tough one. Ah the old 3rd season syndrome?!?!?!?! Why will it be tough. The league is riddlled with poor sides and the likes of WBA and whoever else comes up will struggle. I for one have high expectations for next season. Good new players and a step forward in our style. We should once again be pushing for a top half finish and a good shot at a cup.

If I said 10 points and 20 goals does it make it more unrealistic?
Some on here have most likely seen me bang on about 'goals scored' but it looks like the defence are carrying our boys. We have a great goal diff against those that are in the relegation zone but for me we should be looking to pinch spots off the likes of Everton.
Are we able to step up and challenge with places 5 to 8?

If you want me try to put it to words. Things have gone so well, expectation is so high that a tricky start, a few bad injuries, results go against us and the weak get anxious. I also disagree about the clubs coming up. If say West Brom, Newcastle and Forest came up(for Burnley, Hull and Pompey) they would all have a decent chance of attracting good players. As I say it's a feeling. It will happen at some point, as it did to Everton early this season. They didn't question their manager and now look.

Agreed - when I look at how the leagues could pan out over the next 2-3 seasons, there's a number of "old names" that will no doubt see themselves as having "done their time" in the dungeons of the lower divisions and will be knocking on the door again. Forest, Newcastle, Leicester - and maybe Southampton one year, will be trying to stake a claim and who's to say that should one or two of them make it to the Prem, then they will be able to attract new investment. Progress is good - but not at the expense of over-reaching ourselves too quickly. We have to consolidate to the point that we are a household name year-on-year. Yo-yo-ing is smalltime.

Bah humbug - 3rd season syndrome doesn't exist - anyone with sense knows that!
4th season syndrome, however - that's a bastard and no mistake! ;D

If we stay up next season as well, then I really believe we can push on to higher things. Obviously it's not that simple, but we've got to have faith.

I've every faith that Stoke will keep progressing as long as TP and Uncle Peter are in charge, as we've done over the last few years. However it will be very, very difficult for us to qualify for Europe, except perhaps by winning a cup, any time soon no matter who the manager is.
If the FA Cup and League Cup are both won by teams qualifying through the league anyway so the league gets the most possible Europa League places, we'd have to finish in the top 7 to qualify. Therefore, we'd have to finish above one of:
Chelsea Man Utd Arsenal Man City Liverpool Tottenham Aston Villa
Not impossible of course, particularly if one of those has a very poor season but extremely difficult, especially as we'd have to make sure we were also top of the "everybody else" league as well, ahead of Everton, Fulham, Sunderland, etc.
