Cracking atmosphere and the first few minutes have been pretty feisty and high tempo. Looks like it could be a good game.

Saints have just made me laugh, although i may be dreaming. I'm sure they have just taken an attempted long throw. Surely the football purist that is Pardew would never allow such an agriculutral way of playing the beautiful game.

This used to be one of the more interesting local derby matches....back when Southampton were top flight...

Shows how far we've come. I used to think Wayne Thomas was ace, but he's shit. His passing makes Sidibe look like Hoddle! Thank God we've moved on.

Well the 1st 30 minutes have come and gone . . . lots of huffing and puffing but bugger all penetration.

Well Mardew has Soton playing long balls AND long throws . . . complete with a mention for Rory then from the commentators after the last one.

Anyone else think that the Brit could easily have the corners filled like St Marys?

Anyone else think that the Brit could easily have the corners filled like St Marys? Isn't their ground a bowl though, and it doesnt have a two teir stand. Saying that we could have 3 quarters of the ground like that.

Lambert looks a real handful. I don't think he's good enough for the Prem but he ticks all of Tone's boxes.

I like that Antonio i do, seen him a few occasions this season, he's miles off being the 'finished article' - But he's quick, he takes players on, and he has a monster of a long-throw to boot. Give him a couple of years and he could be knocking on the door of a Prem team i reckon. He's not actually owned by Saints though, on loan from Reading the lad is.

TPs former target Lallana has looked decent as well.
That said what ever happened to our interest in him? At one point it was supposed to be a done deal?

Dunno over here (SE Asia) we don't get the same half bits as the UK.
But he's always been a funny looking bugger to me!

oooooooooooooooh great save from James then. Antonio taking the piss down the right and Lallana put in a cracking first time strike and James pulling out a fantastic save.

Looks like he does here: But with even thinner hair, browner skin, and a dodgy suit. And an earring Ricardo would have second thoughts on...

Also, slightly off topic of the action of this game, did anyone watch the highlights pre-match from the Southampton Vs Portsmouth cup tie from 5 years ago?
Fuller missed a sitter for Pompey and Delap was involved in a move for Saints, always odd to see players which have seemed to be at Stoke forever playing for their previous teams.
