It must have been done before, but which is your favorite Oatcake cover?
For me, has to be the one (and it's now topical), where shortly after Nelson Mandela was released, it had that famous picture of Winnie and Nelson leaving the prison gates:
Nelson: "Has Stoke won owt yet duck?" Winnie: "Don't be soft Nelson, you haven't been away that long".
Genius.

The spot the ball competition showing an A-Z of Stoke-on-Trent after (cant remember which) Vale player had ballooned a penalty at home to Arsenal putting Vale out of the cup.

The Mandela cover is probably the best, but one of my personal favourites was one with a picture of Bally pulling a pint when he packed in management briefly and opened a pub. "This pint will definitely not go down, and even if it does it will come straight back up!"

One that I particularly liked was during the Gudjon era when he'd fallen out with the Sentinel...
Headline: GUDJON PAYS HIS PAPER BILL
Picture of Gudjon and caption: "Got the bastards. Fifty quid in two's and one's!" ;D
Or something like that. Really made me chuckle.

1 that always sticks in my mind was the one in the late eighties i think it was..
Carl Saunders was holding the ball aloft in his hands for a photo shoot type photo.
The caption underneath said something like "Lesson 1 : This is the ball"
