You can't help but like his interviews. Always honest and funny. Still, I think I'd take a win on Saturday over Tuesday!

I was laughing loads after I read this bit.....
"It's been harder to manage this football club this year than it was last year," says Pulis. "The first year in the Premier League, everything is so new and exciting for the fans. It's really like taking a new girlfriend out - for the first couple of times it is so fresh but then over a period of time that fades. I'm not saying you don't still love her but it does die down a little bit."
Pulis is a legend!

Always comes up with these funny little comparisons, girlfriends, dogshome etc, mostly talks a lot of sense. I don't think anyone in the media has ever really managed to tie him down and get him to talk about his own footballing philosophies, the negativeness and style of play issue. I personally don't like the way he approaches the game, I think it often lacks ambition and regard for entertainment value but when you set that against the fact that he has a target and is effective at achieving that target you can't argue with that. I would like to see some in depth examination of his footballing principals because I firmly believe he does his share of stringing along with promises of jam tomorrow, which will actually never come as he is totally committed to his current tactics, personel will change but I very much doubt that his style of play ever will. I just think he should be straight and honest about that.

Pretty good interview - and also some complimentary comments about Stoke from fans of other clubs. That picture of him with hair is a bit scary though.
I like the comment from a Spurs fan:
"He's put a decent, hard to beat team together who have proven they can go toe to toe with just about anyone and get a result, and as he proved last year his style ensured they comfotably survived in the premiership and look well on the way to doing so again this year.
As Arsenal (and annoyingly as it's my team) Spurs have proven, playing fancy football is pointless if you don't stick your chances away and we paid for that by giving them 3 points at WHL last year."

"playing fancy football is pointless if you don't stick your chances away and we paid for that by giving them 3 points at WHL last year"
And yet what mars the article for me is the talk of negative fans who some how think we should be playing tippy-tappy football like we have always done (?). See how successful it is for Arsenal and WBA.
The fans who think we should be running before we can walk, ask Pompey how that feels.
The fans who virtually claim that Pulis' efforts are worthless and anybody could have done them, want to ask QPR and Cardiff fans how easy it is?
The fans who blame Pulis for not getting anyone in Jan, conveniently forgetting that Kitson and Beattie weren't going anywhere and clubs who have trouble financially always point to wage bills as the problems.
This vocal minority for me are the grey lining on the silver cloud. After supporting Stoke for 40+ years I said just 4 years ago that I didn't expect Stoke to play in the top flight in my lifetime. My son was walking around in a Chelsea top and I was begrudgingly allowing it as his Premiership team. Now we are comfortably mid-table, got a couple of good youngsters in the team, finances are good, unbeaten in 2010, 3 goals in each of our last 3 home games, a lot of respect in the footballing world, had a feature added to FIFA10 due to Rory's bombs and best of all my son kicks his ball around resplendent in his Stoke shirt shouting 'Whitehead passes to Matty. Matty...Matty..slides it into Fuller...GOAL!'

He's a legend and true Stoke fans will admit this, not your whinging ones who don't go games and just slate him and live in the 70s ERA, with no general moderr football knowledge what so ever.

good article and it is difficult to argue with anything that Pulis has said. However it does sort of explain why I do not believe a word of his "We'll go for it" article on the official site...

Remember when football wasn't such a hard-faced cynical business? When it was about glory? Even fun? Exactly what is the point of being in the Premier League if you can't win it, if you can't get promoted and still aim for the sky, like Leeds and Forest? Is it about higher wages for the players and nothing else? But disrespect the FA Cup all you like Mr Pulis, especially tomorrow.
What is this Citeh twat on about exactly?

I think he may actually be telling the truth there, as shown in the last round he is a lot less fearful in the cup because he's not too worried if we lose. Whereas in a lot of games he seems to play for the draw I think that would be the last thing he will want tomorrow, so might as well have a go.
