After watching the Arsenal v Liverpool game last night and a few other of the ‘big 4’ teams play lately it really hit home how much belox the media churn out.
Last night’s game is only one example I know, but it was dull, very dull. It lacked ‘entertainment value’. Liverpool were being praised in the first half for doing exactly what we do, but we do it better! – closing down and pressuring. When Liverpool did it, it was called ‘hard work’ and ‘team spirit’. However when we do it, it’s often labelled ‘physical’ and ‘the ugly part of the game’. I might be being too sensitive here but who cares. Anyway that is only a small point. The main issue I have is with the hype and glamorising of fixtures like this. The 'top 4' games are the focus of continual brand building of fantastic football, irrespective of whether it is or not!
Can we have a bit more realism and respect for the other teams outside of the top 4 and their entertainment value and input into the league?

Good point. Did you see Chelsea's goal last night aswell?
If we did that, TalkSport would be ripping us a new twat.

When I say fuck the top four, and fuck all tv football pundits, I do not mean fuck in a nice way.

Matches between the so-called 'big 4' are more often than not, a complete (excuse the expression) bag 'o wank!

I thought the Chelsea Arse game at the weekend was a good one....I was impressed with the way Chelsea are basically doing what Stoke do but with better players!
Physical and uncompromising but still able to play a bit too.

Sky News and FSC news all said what a dull and boring game it was !! even the commetators said how awful the first half was on the radio !

The Arsenal last game was poor. Lots of passing and no penetration (ooh-err).

The Arsenal game was boring - not just a little bit boring, but bone numbingly boring.
