I perhaps didn't appreciate Peter Thorne until he left. He was a lazy git but just kept scoring and scoring. The back to back hat-tricks at Bristol Rovers were magnificent. However, his finest moment was in a Cardiff shirt. Tremendous respect to the football club by not celebrating. I doff my cap Thorney.

I was really gutted when he left us for Cardiff but he made no fuzz about it unlike Kav. His non-reaction after scoring three against us was incredible to witness. A true legend with superb attitude.

How many Cardiff players would get a standing ovation after sticking three past us at the Brit? I don't think there are many ex-players we'd have that much affection for.

Thank goodness Blackburn took him on. Had they not, football would have been the loser. As well as being a great servant to Stoke, he's been a consumate professional throughout his careeer.
OS also doffs cap.
OS.

always loved thorney, he was brilliant the season he scored 30 plus goals. Who will be the next strikers to get past 30 in one season? There's one to ponder.

I walked out with him at the Brit when I was mascot and that is one of the most memorable moments of my life. I cried when he signed for Cardiff. I was only 9 at the time to be fair

I walked out with him at the Brit when I was mascot and that is one of the most memorable moments of my life. I too had the fortune to do that...he was, and still is, at legendary status for me and my memories of football.

The bloke is a true stoke city legend.
He was the only glimmer of light in a very dark time.
