I've had a couple of migraines in the past, the difference between that and yer common or garden headache is that it's much more severe, at the onset of one I find my vision starts to go weird, if i take a migralieve (sp) or summat similar at that point I usually get away with it. If I don't Haven't had one for a while now tho' (touches wood)

Migraines are a severe form of headaches. They are thought to be caused by constriction of the blood vessels in the brain, although latest research says that they can also be linked to holes in the heart.
They can be associated with visual disturbances. The headaches are typically left sided and can be associted with nausea and vomiting. At the onset take two asprins and a paracetamol and it will make a big difference to its severity

I have a migraine, on average, once a week. I know when I'm about to get one as I start to yawn, and then it's a case of going to sleep in the darkest place I can find. It's an utter pain in the arse, just stops me dead in my tracks. I've tried all the different drugs, different diets, had brain scans, seen specialists, the lot. Nothing has ever worked. The latest one I have heard, and is having some great results, is Botox! A couple of injections between the eyebrows is supposedly all it takes, just bloody expensive though ;D

Especially if you know your blood type In all fairness mate, if they were happening after I ate a certain food then I would have clocked on to it before now. I could eat the same thing all week and I would still have one pop up. Thanks for trying to help, but like I said earlier, I have tried everything and to no avail. I am seriously thinking about saving a few quid though and trying the Botox! Even if it doesn't work, at least I will have a wrinkle free face :-)
