Because that is the logical conclusion from that sending off decision today. If that tackle is illegal then that changes the whole concept of the game. i would be interested to know if there are any referees or ex referees who could come on here and defend that decision today!
I can't think of a worst decision for a sending off involving stoke in the last 30 years

Plus a ban on anyone making any attempt at all to keep football as a man's game.
To be honest, I watched what I could of the ladies world cup last time and they play without the "girlie" (sorry ladies, a stereotype I know, but emphasises my point) behaviour that so many "men" display in the modern game.
However, to be fair to Ephraim, he didn't make a fuss, just fell over upon the collision and did try to avoid it by jumping over Griffin.
