I had some family that worked there not long before it shut. Can anyone remember when the door s we re opened up and all the staff were hiding under the bar. The landlord 'SCROAT' was standing there saying everyone had been sacked. Good days ;D

It’s now owned by a couple of mates of mine, Dom and Mitch. It’s called NS Scooters and they buy sell repair new and old motor Scooters. My Lambretta is currently stored there. The bar is still there used to put scooter bits on, the bogs in there were probably last cleaned when the Vic closed but if you call in and want a chat about old scooters etc they’ll make you welcome an make you a cup of tea, warning drink it at you own peril though, the mugs were probably last cleaned the same time as the bogs. Gouranga.

Factual Info - The Stoke City Supporters Club was the building opposite the players entrance of the Boothen Stand. The Stoke City Social Club was at the corner of the Boothen Stand/Boothen End. The Social Club was run by the club itself, and the players often used to be seen in there at lunchtime for a pint and a meat pie (no pasta and energy drinks in the 70s). Hudson, Salmons et al used to be frequent visitors. It was indeed the venue where Tony Hatch recorded "We'll Be With You". The Supporters Club was (as the name says) run by the Supporters Club Association.
Not wanting to be a pedant, but if we are being nostalgic then we have to be accurate.

Your team may have been called that, but the clubs are as I described. As an ex-stoke player, I know what I'm on about, trust me. Spent most of my lunchtimes in the Social Club with Ivy making my lunch.

not forgetting the talbot in stoke..larry parks in the sealion.....what a legend he was,and a bit of a lad...... Yeah Larry Parks, Terry Allen, and Wilfie Stevenson and the gang ;D I still see Terry Allen and have always called him Uncle Terry, a top bloke and I was told he had the fastest hands in the business when he had to slap somebody. I remember seeing an away fan unconscious on the pool table in the Sea Lion and someone just said "He shot his mouth off once or twice so someone thumped him .... just the once".... ;D ;D ;D
